I am a tree without roots. Raised by culturally diverse parents, brought up in the heart of Europe, thrown unceremoniously into the US in my twenties and left in a state of culture-shock; to this day, I have no idea where I really belong. I may never discover that place.
I can speak four languages. I have a penchant for the past, and am an avid historic costumer. I have been an equestrian all my life, and currently own a rather large and demanding Belgian draught horse who throws me often and keeps me in check. I am currently attempting to train the obstinate horse to for side-saddle.
I am addicted to Jane Austen, require an all-you-can-eat buffet of reading material, and have recently discovered the delights of my Nook. I am also a proud self-professed geek and enjoy many geek-related activities and entertainments, including costuming, my obsession with Star Trek and its many franchises, the
Whedonverse, BSG and Caprica and Star Wars of course. I am a huge fan of
The Guild to boot--but I do not venture into any MMOs, because I remember losing a good portion of my mid-twenties being absorbed into
Battle.Net (with dial-up no less!) and becoming dangerously vitamin-D deficient. I am not quite the kind that is courageous enough to be found wearing Princess-Leia gear at a convention, but I am hard-core enough to endure an entire marathon of the Star Trek movies in one sitting and can sometimes be found watching the entire Firefly series on a binge.
My stories range from Science Fiction to Urban Fantasy to Fantasy. My first venture into the published world arrived in the form of the Trilogy of Tinna, however there are several more projects on the burner waiting for their moment.
I consider myself largely an affable, warm hearted hermit with a forthright, and often quirky sense of humour. I write from my heart, and try very hard to make my characters as real and three-dimensional as possible. My unpredictable and rather Attention-Deficit-Disordered nature guarantees that my stories will take you to unexpected places.
