I'm a newbie.......
Hello Sylvie - glad to hear from the East Coast -been to New Brunswick - liked what I saw - we've been to the East coast a number of times although originally from the West coast but the distance to the West got too far for driving and the East coast and the Atlantic ocean...
I'm a newbie.......
Hello again Giffen: We emigrated to Canada from England in 1953 - Dad, Mum, 2 sisters and a brother. Dad thought that Canada held a brighter future for all of us in Canada so that's what happened. Still have a fondness for all things U.K. and went back there in 1987 and...
Hi Giffen: Nice to hear from you. Have been to Saltspring on a day trip and my Mum and Dad used to have a piece of property on Gabriola so am kind of familiar with a couple of the islands. I do love The Wind in the Willows, have my copy in the bookcase. It always makes me feel cozy - don't...
Greetings from a masochistic
Hi Marc: Why do you think that French has been soiled by common useage? Not sure I understand what you mean. Perhaps a couple of examples? momac:confused:
Greetings from a masochistic......
Bon jour Marc-Andre, comment ca va? That's about it for my French unless I sit down and think about it. I come from that other 'fictional' nation. I hope you enjoy the forum and I'm sure it will be helpful with your English as many young people these days...
Just finished reading Three Weeks to Say Goodbye, author C. J. Box. Good story involving police, an iffy judge, an adoption that goes awry, conspiracy -an interesting read. The author also wrote the award winning Joe Pickett series. A bit different from the usual crime/detective novel. momac
Takes me a couple of hours but I just figured out rofling - rolling on the floor laughing - must share my recent book and reader forum experiences with our computer group at our monthly lunch on Thursday - we are just a bunch of folks who took a computer course about four years ago - all...

getting to know.....
Ya gotta be kidding! I've been puzzling over my technical inadequacies and those little silly little yellow balls were rolling around laughing or whatever rolfing is. Good job you don't live next door!!!!! momac:rolleyes:

All I get on the screen when I underline the links you have sent me is that little round fellow in the one corner - the rest of the screen is blank. momac
Getting to know
Am now a member of photobucket and once I can interpret what it is I'm being asked I should be all set. You're dealing with a granny who is quite befuddled with all this computer stuff - maybe I should be asking the kid across the street to be my mentor. momac :banghead6mx:
Don't have anything called photobucket on my computer - I guess it's one of those things you can add but I've never even run across it before. Will investigate further. Who is Thomas? momac
crime/horror/thriller.......
Thanks for providing a new name - haven't read any of the Lis Wiehl and April Henry books so it will be interesting to look for one of their books. Always seem to gravitate to the ones I know and eventually I run out of new ones. momac:flowers:

Hi Brk 3: I just picked up The Great Gatsby from the library and it looks like a fairly slim book - only 180 pages - probably a good book for a busy person. I haven't read any of F. Scott Fitzgerald's books before, always seem to head towards the best sellers so haven't read much...

Hello again Brk 3: Here are some suggestions for you to mull over. Let me know if any are o.k. and what you choose if you do choose. A Farewell to Arms, Ernest Hemingway, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Ernest Hemingway, The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Grapes of Wrath, John...
