My first choice is to buy books at my little local bookstore. I like to help the small independent stores as much as possible.

I use Google constantly, especially when I am reading. If something comes up that I don't know about in the text, I run off to the computer and look it up. Sometimes it sidetracks me though, because looking up one thing always leads to another...and so on. :) I'm currently reading Musashi...
I am resurrecting this thread because I just started reading this book and so far, I adore it! I stayed up way too late last night because it sucked me right in. So far I'm only about 100 pages in, and it's about 950 - so it's really long - yay! :)
Has anyone else read it?
I just finished Dirt Music last week. I felt like the novel fell flat about halfway through and I had to push to get through it. It felt a little rambling and over-written to me. But, I do have to say that I really enjoy Winton's style of writing, so Cloudstreet and The Riders are both on my TBR...
Augusten Burroughs is a favorite author of mine. I adored everything he has put out so far, with the exception of A Wolf at the Table. I think I was wanting it to be more funny, and it's just not a funny book - definitely a different mood than the other books.
Dry is one of my favorite...
Firestorm - Nevada Barr is the only book I have found with local connections for me. I read this because it takes place in Lassen National Park which is basically my backyard. I was very sad that I didn't enjoy the book at all. :( I wanted to love it... but I could hardly finish it. Darn it.
