    Google and books

I use Google constantly, especially when I am reading. If something comes up that I don't know about in the text, I run off to the computer and look it up. Sometimes it sidetracks me though, because looking up one thing always leads to another...and so on. :) I'm currently reading Musashi...

    Eiji Yoshikawa: Musashi

I am resurrecting this thread because I just started reading this book and so far, I adore it! I stayed up way too late last night because it sucked me right in. So far I'm only about 100 pages in, and it's about 950 - so it's really long - yay! :) Has anyone else read it?

But, I do have to say that I really enjoy Winton's style of writing, so Cloudstreet and The Riders are both on my TBR...

    Augusten Burroughs

Augusten Burroughs is a favorite author of mine. I adored everything he has put out so far, with the exception of A Wolf at the Table. I think I was wanting it to be more funny, and it's just not a funny book - definitely a different mood than the other books. Dry is one of my favorite...

Books with Local and/or Personal Connections

Firestorm - Nevada Barr is the only book I have found with local connections for me. I read this because it takes place in Lassen National Park which is basically my backyard. I was very sad that I didn't enjoy the book at all. :( I wanted to love it... but I could hardly finish it. Darn it.
