    Isaac Asimov's Foundation Series

I've just now finished Foundation. I thought it was very good. I was very surprised to see how far ahead of Prelude to Foundation it was. It's interesting to see the main character in one book being portrayed as a iconic figure and almost god in the next book.

Do you mean the Foundation series?

    Reading in May

In May I've read Prelude to Foundation by Isaac Asimov (Seems to be a promising series.), 5 people you meet in Heaven (I agree sanyuja, not very good.), Les Miserables - Victor Hugo (No praise needed, excellent book.) I'm now reading Foundation by Isaac Asimov.

    I just finished reading...

The 5 people you meet in heaven I just finished reading The 5 people you meet in heaven by Mitch Albom. It was different than what I thought. I'll say that I enjoyed reading it, but it will not be in my top 10 list.

right to life - right to die

This is a very touchy subject. It's probably not meant for a book forum but more in a philosophy forum but it's nice to discuss it anyway. I think the issue that alot of people have is that we are letting someone die when they could very well live for another 20 or 30 years. Personally, I...

    George Orwell: Animal Farm

This is one of the best books I've ever read. It isn't very long but it has a strong message. I'd recommend it to anyone who would want to read political books.

Smoking is addictive - yay or nay?

I quit 2 months ago. Cold turkey. It wasn't easy by any means, but it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. I think because there was no influence at all around me it made it that much more easy. When you're craving a smoke really bad and your buddy right beside you is just lighting...

Getting to know each other... (It's feezzzzzing cold in here :( )

    - Where are you from? (Country, state, city...) I'm from Canada and live in the good old city of Saint John in the province of New Brunswick. - How old are you and what is your gender? 24, male - What are your hobbies (Other than reading books)? I love to play sports, mostly hockey. Playing...

    Stephen King

I think the connections are more of an explanation of what the world of the dark tower is. I read Insomnia after reading the first 3 dark towers and I felt that it explained alot about the Low men....And so on and so forth. None of them actually have the tet in them (with the exception Sisters...

    Dan Brown

It must be easy for him to write a book. He uses the find and replace for all the characters name and a few other things. I made the mistake of buying 2 of his books at once.

    Maths sequence

I think it might be 6 or 8? But I can't seem to figure out the correct pattern....

Alexandre Dumas: The Count Of Monte Cristo

I think the general public expects too much from the heroes of today. In this book the story is mostly of how the main character was wronged, and then his enemies receiving what they deserve. And not how the main character took his revenge upon his enemies. I don't believe this story...

Alexandre Dumas: The Count Of Monte Cristo

I finished this book about 2 weeks ago. I thought it was a real good read. I loved the 3 musketeers by him and thought I'd give the Count a try. As you said Fluffy Bunny I felt that the Count had more of a passive role in the destruction of his enemies. What I liked most about the book, as...

i want to speed my reading

Like most people it takes me about a week to read a book. It'll also depend on how much I like a book or how much time I have to read. For example sometimes if I read for 15 min I can't get more than 10 or 15 pages in, but if I read for an hour I can get 100 or more pages in. You get into a...

    stand the uncut version

I've only read the Uncut version of The Stand and I really liked it. I couldn't see myself reading the other version. It would seem pointless. Maybe if I had read the original one first, then read the Uncut??? I can't think of any other books that I've read that have been re-released with an...

    Addicted

Like True, I try to put a few days between my books. It usually depends on how much the book affects me. If it's a book I really liked, I'll take a few days to ponder on it. And if not, I'll start a new one right away. I do have a few other habits that I lose myself into. Playing guitar...

    Current fantasy reads

I've read Stardust - Neil Gaiman. I really enjoyed this story. Although it is a very short book, it is very well written. This is my 2 Neil Gaiman book on his own and I really like his style.

How much books do you read per year?

I'd say an average of one a week. I work night shift and have loads of time to read. Makes for a boring job, but alot of reading. :)
