Flattery will get you nowhere. I am highly suspicious of flattery. It implies that you want something that I have got, when; in fact, you have got something that I want; ie the answer to the question; the question being - what is this LURKING business. And why doesn't the Wabbit know the answer...
Wabbit, for a munchy-crunchy carrot, will you tell me?
Litany, for a fetching pair of fluffy slippers, with concealed miniature-spork sheaths, will you tell me?
Ashlea, for the complete anthology of Viggo's poems, signed, will you tell me?
Phil_The Englishman, for a sparkling new...
I didn't understand the last two lines. But other than that, I found it gripping. Quite harrowing, really. Especially the lines:
'Breaking and scraping my fingers on the walls
Until there is nothing but bone and blood'
I felt the anguish.
I hope you're not in a sad mood, Wabbit? :(...
Can I be honest with you? Oh, yes – we’ve cleared that up before, haven’t we? :)
I found the numbers distracting, and I would like an explanation as to why you put them in. *curious*. However, anything to please. We’ll do it your way ;)
1. The first stanza didn’t do it for me, but that’s...
piedro, first off, it’s nice that you have jumped back into the book forum again. You have been much too quiet of late ;)
Secondly, I love the animation that comes through in your writing :)
Thirdly, it’s nice to get feedback from someone of your age! You are right about being a bit like...
Pete (part 3)
We sat for a while, catching our breath. Trish bubbled with delight and talked non-stop. I asked if she had taken something, but she shook her head in wide-eyed innocence and said no. Norse pulled her close, cuddled into her and kissed her, and she resisted at first, but gradually...
Pete (part 2)
EXCERPT [Car park. Late evening.]
Norse and I marched to The Penetrator. We didn’t speak because it would have served no purpose. Air horns brayed, proclaiming a road race, and engines fired up on all sides. The car park throbbed and roared and grumbled with vibration. Norse...
This is the first ‘complete’ story I have written. I’ll give you the intro, and then an excerpt from later on in the story.
I would appreciate comments from anyone who could take the time to read this, readers and writers alike. I’m not too confident about writing action stuff (eg the car...
I can only speak for myself . I am a fully-grown but an incomplete woman by your definition. I have just returned from my second hockey match in 24 hours. I would rather walk the streets of Hell, than the streets of any shopping mall. So there. :p :)
Third Man Girl
Am I? Is that how you see me? Really?
Ecarta: Lurk - to exist as an unsuspected threat or danger
Wow! Said 'members' had better beware ;)
Third Man Girl
Whoa! Cue for a book. John Fowles - The Collector.
Good book, but be careful about reading reviews. I did, and some idiot gave away the ending :(
Third Man Girl
Gosh, you Americans are weird. You eat grit, which we would only feed to laying hens, and yet you don't play with skooshy cream!
To skoosh - To squirt. Skooshy cream - squirty cream. You know - grab an aerosol, shake, skoosh, squirt. Yes? Edible cream for cakes, and I'm not even going to...
Are you trying to go all mathematical and alliterative on me?
Poems: words - emotions - visions. :)
Wraiths, running, wrangling, railing, writhing, rolling, wracking, rushing, wreaking havoc on the sand . . .
I refuse to be tamed. Rant over ;)
