Congrats on making a start - seems to me you have a lot of good ideas and you have certainly given a good picture of the atmosphere and the world you are describing.
I would agree with Ashlea though. I found the first couple of sentences quite long and, although there are lots of different...
Anyone catch this on Saturday night?
I am scandalised that the Vicar of Dibley came third - beating Fawlty Towers and Dad's Army to name but two.
Fawlty Towers at number four - what was that about? Who was voting?
No surprise that Only Fools and Horses came first - it was my second...
I would definitely say cornettos.
Google agrees with me: if you search for the word 'cornettos' it brings back nearly 700 hits, however if you put in 'cornettoes' it gives you 22 hits and asks you if you meant to search for 'cornettos'. :)

I work in Human Resources (Personnel) and am usually found either hiring or firing people (sad but true). I quite enjoy my job...
I agree completely. My first (and only) le Carre was The Tailor of Panama. I couldn't get into it at all. I don't have any plans to read the others. :(

Something...
Where I live now (block of flats in London) we aren't allowed to keep pets. :(
Previously though I have owned a pet sheep (Snowflake), a pet donkey (Sindy), a big dopey golden labrador (Chloe), one black labrador (Molly), 5 cats (Tom, Jerry, Ginger, Mouser, Moggie), 2 goldfish (Dempsey and...
Although I haven't read many short stories I have to go with The Fall of the House of Usher by EAP. I also remember from long ago the short stories from Tales of the Unexpected - they were really good.
At the risk of sounding pedantic :D this is not the correct answer. I would like to know what the significance of the LEFT hand is over the RIGHT hand.
(Hint this is an ancient custom - dating back at least 2,000 yrs)
Other than that Martin - very impressive. :)
why is the wedding ring placed on your left hand and not your right?
why is the sky blue?
And just because we are in a book forum:
The popularity of this novel was the deciding factor in the conquest of the Anglo-Saxon language (which would evolve into modern English) over...
I would have the following:
Starter:
Prawn cocktail
Main course:
Pepper steak with chips, cooked tomtoes, peas (and a yorkshire pud)
Dessert:
Strawberry cheesecake
Cheese & biscuits
Irish coffee
I've gone and made myself hungry now.
