    Favorite Movies

Favorite Movies... Star Wars The Lord of the Rings Monty Python and the Holy Grail Amadeus The Sound of Music E.T. West Side Story The Sixth Sense Romeo and Juliet (Zeffirelli version :p) I'll probably think of some more. Not much of a moviegoer, though.

    Ray Bradbury: The Martian Chronicles

I couldn't find another thread for The Martian Chronicles, so I decided to start one. I'm not very far into it yet, but I really like the imagery Bradbury creates. Anybody else read it?

    Question Game

Oh, that's hard. I like penguins, though. If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?

Skim milk, since...forever. I can't stand Vitamin D milk. It makes me feel like I'm drinking pure fat! Shower or bath?

    H.i.m.

I've only heard one song by H.I.M. and it was the second one that you mentioned. It was pretty good, but I'm not a fan. I'm very picky about the music that I listen to, just as I am with everything else. I guess I should give H.I.M. more of a chance, but I'm one of those people who usually likes...

How's the weather where you live?

Rain. Torrential rain. And my damn umbrella keeps flipping inside-out.

What do you pay for gas?

I don't drive, but my mom and I stopped at a gas station and paid $2.79 for regular unleaded. What is the world coming to??? I blame it on that stupid idiot in the White House, or, just as likely on that damn ranch. EDIT: Ignore that last sentence. ;)

    Question Game

Nope. Hunting for eggs is such a waste of effort when you can gorge yourself with chocolate anyway without doing so. When I'm out in public, rather than without cash, I feel powerless without a pencil or a pen. I feel like I have no means of expression without at least having one with me...

Books you'd never let your kids read....

If I was to have a child (which I'm certainly not ready for yet!) I don't think I'd restrict him/her/it (you can never be sure...) from reading anything. I'd trust him/her to make his/her own choices. Of course there are some books, 'crappy' books in particular, that I would rather s/he avoid...

    Weird Dreams

I also experience strange dreams from time to time. Sometimes multiple strange dreams in one night. When I was young, I had dreams of a candy store or a gingerbread house in the middle of a wood, and my dad would walk there with me and buy me lemon drops and peppermint sticks. I also had...

    Question Game

Sometimes life goes at hyperspeed-G6 speed, and sometimes I feel like I'm drowning in my own drool in boredom. It depends on whether I'm at school or not ;). Favorite season?

Zora Neale Hurston: Their Eyes Were Watching God

Does anyone notice that throughout the novel, Janie is battling with herself for which she values more: love/marriage or independence? It seems like Janie spends a lot of time looking for love, but she also puts forth a lot of energy looking for and protecting herself. She stands up to Joe and...

    top ten books for highschoolers?

You can't learn about a person's thoughts and emotions from a textbooks. Textbooks can do nothing more than generalize. They don't give insight into the individual. They can say: "People who are autistic suffer from lack of communication skills." But they can't tell you how these people deal...

    Why do you read fiction?

Simple: nonfiction is boring. :D (I still have this mindset from an AP Bio textbook I used previously.) Okay, okay, to be more reasonable. The thing is, while nonfiction tells, fiction shows. You can read all the world's nonfic books on the Middle Ages or World War II, but very few can...

    John Irving: The Fourth Hand

I have never heard of this book. It sound very...uh...nice though, PineCones. :D Just out of curiosity, if you get a 'hand transplant,' will you be able to feel things with it? Will the fingers grow and move? It seems as though it would be difficult to connect the nerves together...

    Question Game

I guess most people would say silk, but I don't wear silk (the production of which kills silk worms :() so I will say Egyptian cotton. It's so soft and comfortable and wonderful! I fell in love with it, but we recently had a divorce because it is too much of a financial burden on me and refuses...
