Unlimited money? Take my entire family on worldwide adventure, sprinkling just a few of my ashes in each location. Sprinkle some of me in Abingdon, Va (My happiest childhood memories were here), a little more in St. Petersburg Russia, a bit in London, some in Norway on the mountain top, A pinch...
Seriously, children will find a way to get the information they want. Whether they are given that knowledge or must seek it out on their own. Better to have that information transmitted through a book (where the family can discuss it) than to have the real live experience.
As for Harry...
Gosh, I write this thread as I have wrapped two bodies in the last week. *sigh*
First off, donate anything useful in me to someone else who needs it. Not like I'm going to use it anymore. Then cremate me. Though I would like to be scattered with my husband. He does not care whether he is...
I Remember my parents were always getting me books. They had to limit me. There was a very small local bookstore where we were, Mom and Dad had to special order most of their books. Whenever they would go to the store, I would be bouncing up and down to go with them. The second we got there, Mom...
Currently I live in Miami, Florida. I am going to have my copy og "Reading Lolita in Tehran" take part in Bookcrossing. I found a thread about it here and it looked like fun. :)
Morning Lark, my work keeps me that way. On days I work I must wake up at 5:30 am and be there at 6:30. Then on days I'm not working I still wake up early out of habit. I miss being a night owl like I was in college though I do get much more done now.
Oh yes!! I have played all of the Monkey Island games. I actually have the original games on a CD in my computer, then I also have the newer one as well. I loved them because they were just so wacky, and great puzzle games.
Day of the Tentacles was also really fun as well. Much along the...
The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe By C.S Lewis- Just as enjoyable as when I first read this book as a child. Very quick read as it is only 90 pages.
Don't Eat This Book by Morgan Spurlock: Along the same lines as his movie Supersize Me. Another investigation into the fast food...

Aah, this list of books I mentioned. Gosh, that was everything I could remember reading from the last few months (I couldn't remember them all). As far as the list of books to be read... Alas, those are my best intentions. I have 2 more books left in the stack next to my bed before I...
First, I keep a stack of books next to my bed. I don't have to read them in order, but I must finish that stack( or have only 1 left) before I go bouncing off to the bookstore again. The stack usually begins with about 6-7 books.
Besides that I keep a list of books I have heard of that I...
As far as WHY some very wealthy people have kids if they aren't going to care for them. It is another bragging point to add to their perfect lives. you have a rich husband, a big house, plenty of money, and little johnny who is 'smarter than your kid'. When the kid is pushed to accomplish many...
Many hospitals do have a book repository where patients can check out books if they are stuck there a while. I have heard it is somewhat common. My hospital does not. I know the volunteers department delivers the daily paper for those who want it and also has a few magazines, but that is it...
Oh, Forgot to reply to Stewart: The screen name comes from an old dog of mine. A little Scottish Terrier by the name of Duffy. I had him for 14 years, my name comes from him. I am in no way scottish myself. Just loved my dog WAY too much. He passed away this last Christmas.
I used to believe that all of my Teddy bears and assorted stuffed animals had real thoughts and feelings. If only I could open my door fast enough I could see them drop to the floor and pretent to be inanimate again. To this day I still can't rid of some of my bears because I am afraid of...
I liked RWS a lot. It wasn't written in a way intended to may the readre pity the porr childhood of the author. It was just written as an account of what was. It was very funny, and I even managed to get my husband to pick up the book. Though he is now joking that we should have a...
Yep, Registered Nurse. I am a Crititical Care Nurse, and end up pawning off some of my books onto my patients who a pretty bored from staying in the hospital for extended periods.
I was allowed to read anything I wished as a child. As a small child I never read anything considered bad. I mainly stuck to the American Girl books and the Ramona books by Judy Bloom.
As a teenager though, I got into some weird stuff. I read all of the RL Stine and Christopher Pike books. I...
