    Across The Nightingale Floor

I really liked this book a lot. It was little bit spare when it came to narration, and the alternating first- and third-person viewpoints were a little bit sloppy, but it was very good nevertheless. It showed a different side to Japanese culture beyond the samurai-ninja stereotypes. I found the...

what are some names of authors or books

    You mean like 'classics' of sci-fi? I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, but here's what I've read: Fahrenheit 451 -- Bradbury 1984 -- Orwell Catch-22 -- Heller Slaughterhouse-Five -- Vonnegut Hope I've helped!

    Question Game

No, I do not like sushi because I am vegetarian . Se habla espanol o otra lingua que ingles? (Do you speak Spanish or a different language than English?) Sorry, I couldn't find a way to make the accents. :D

Zora Neale Hurston: Their Eyes Were Watching God

Has anyone here read Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston? I was forced to read it for my American Literature class...and found myself enjoying it (the horror!) a lot! If anyone else liked it, I'd be interested in discussing it. I especially liked the language in the book. It set...

    Why read books?

I read because I love to read!!! That, and if it's required for school...:p I can never read in moving vehicles, though. It makes me sick. I have a very weak stomach you see (some people tell me it's because I'm a vegetarian    !) and cannot read in cars, trains...

    Question Game

None. I'm flat broke. :D If I could afford it, I would get a car. I have my permit but it'll be another year until my license. Do you have a reoccuring or just a very strange nightmare, and, if so, what is it?

Relay Game: "The story of the guy named Ed."

Oh yay! I love these! I'm not exactly a writer, but I'll give it a shot. Here goes: The 'restaurant' was one of those shabby, grubby places infested by thugs. There were more drug dealers than customers. Muscly men sported tattoos of naked women, nervous wrecks swallowed shot after shot of...

    Do u Haiku?

I like this one lots. All of them are very good. You must teach me now. How was that???? I know, I suck. I am a terrible poet, and I know it. ;) Yours are very good, though. Keep writing!

How's the weather where you live?

The weather here is beautiful! Actually, just this weekend it snowed about an inch, but it was gone by midday. Today it was edging 60 degrees! I love Michigan weather (there are very few people who can truthfully say that ;)).

China Plans To Build 32 New Nuclear Plants

I don't like the idea of building more nuclear power plants as an energy solution because it creates more pollution than all alternative energy sources combined. I'm not exactly an environmentalist, but I think there are other ways to achieve equal energy potential, such as solar and wind power...

    Question Game

That's hard. I'm very particular. I like historical fiction with a tinge of fantasy and suspense. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

    a strange story...

So true! (Trying to not get too political here, but one can't deny the facts.) I love you Fieldy! (Try not to read too much into that ;).) Now looking back on what I have written, I feel kind of embarrassed. There are so many grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, awkward parts...:o. I...

    a strange story...

Thanks Fieldy! You really know how to give a person a great ego boost. :D My brother is always making fun of my writing (I admit my topics of choice are slightly unconventional...) so thank you tons for your praise. You have restored my self esteem! EDIT: Actually, I can't take all the...

    a strange story...

Please don't ask me there this story came from. I don't want to know myself. All I remember was considering what would happen if an inanimate object was elected president... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear reader, before you commence to read...

    Daphne Du Maurier

I want to read Rebecca. I wish my English teacher would just hurry up and make it required reading so I'm forced to read it. I have very little motivation without the incentive of a good grade (or a bad one).
