I just got recommended this author yesterday for the millionth time, then come back to here and see a post about him. Guess I'd better give him a shot soon. Although, which one should I start with? Heard many good things about varying titles.

First word, three letters...sounds like Can, like shit can, where this authors belongs.
Second word, five letters...is the color of poo, which his writing represents!

Very good...not sure if it's because I know the writer, but the tone seems so innocent and pure. Amazingly, the grammar mistakes actually add to this feeling. It is as if a small child has taken in this wonderful city all at once, become immersed in it's mystery, and has returned home to...
Finally WAS came in. I'm looking forward to cracking it open tonight and getting into it. From what I've heard it's a very melancholy book, should be interesting.
Just finished up the last story in cosmicomics. After contemplating back upon the book as a whole, I can't think of many authors better at pure writing and story telling. Calvino certainly has a rare gift. Cheers to Italo, for being the best author in the world at taking absolutely random...
I can't do that, I get on kicks for certain types of books or a certain author to much and binge on them. :) Ah, I have finally fallen victim to one of the biggest college problems sweeping the globe, binge reading. It's not pretty folks. :eek:
Just finished Cosmicomics...and The Picture of Dorain Gray....although I'd aleady read the latter, it was a few years ago, and I appreicated much more this go around.
I was thouroughly impressed by Calvino's writing and need to read If On a Winter's Night a Traveler....

The Midwest is particularly pleasant actually. Even in Chicago you rarely meet someone who is not willing to be polite and help you. Not to mention the many smaller towns throughout Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin ...people will practically open their doors to you. I live and have grown up...
