I've heard from so many "experts" about this case that I feel like I could consider myself one, now.
Even if Terri doesn't feel a thing, it's still the court-appointed death of an innocent person.
I get SO VERY sick and tired of hearing this. ALL the President and Congress did was ask the court to look at the case one more time. That's it. They didn't change any laws. They didn't ignore the Constitution. They were simply trying to save an innocent woman from being starved to death...
It might not be a great idea to say that the politicians are pandering to the "right-to-life crowd" since the ENTIRE Senate (including the "right-to-die crowd" Democrats) voted to pass the bill. This isn't a partisan issue. It's simply about whether or not someone should be allowed to starve...
All that being said, would anyone here be interested in having a new snail mail pen pal? We already know we have at least one thing in common - the love of books!
If you would like to know more, please email me at cloudsandstars@catt.com. :)
I didn't know about that tax break! Woohoo! I'll definitely be using that next year.
I probably spend at least $500 per year, probably more like $700-800.
My gosh, st0gey, you are absolutely brilliant. I apparently didn't give my statement much thought, because I had no idea that someone would take such offense to the fact that someone can hold on to their beliefs yet still respect others' ideas. And I must be lying because I'm a Christian...
I have seen this presentation before, and I feel that it is very beautiful and stirring. It might not appeal to less religious/spiritual people, but it certainly resonates with me. Thanks for reminding me about this one! :)
When I was 16 or 17, I had two really special pen pals. I don't even know why we quit writing each other; that just seems to be something that unfortunately happens quite often in the pen pal world. I've even tried to search for their new addresses, to no avail.
Do any of you have regular...
Thanks to all of you for your very helpful (and entertaining) tips. I don't really feel comfortable going over to their house - I'm paranoid, and their weird behavior spooks me.
And yes, Motokid, I am kind of out in the country a bit. I have neighbors on all sides, but they are at least...
This may have already been requested before, so forgive me if this is a repeat...
Would it be possible to have a chat room on this site or connected to this site somehow? I think it would be a blast to be able to chat live with other members of this forum.
Just an idea! :)
To make a long story short, our neighbors have been burning stuff (not sure what, but it's not wood or even trash) every night as soon as it gets dark. We've long suspected something strange going on there because there are cars and trucks and vans coming and going at all hours of night and...
I liked this book alright, but it's not one of my favorites. I gave it a rating of 8 out of 10. Something about it kind of got on my nerves, but I couldn't pinpoint what it was exactly.
I've always been amazed at all the places books can take you. I'm curious - Is the setting of a book a factor for you in choosing whether or not to read it? It's not really to me, but it is one of the many aspects of a book that I take into consideration before buying or reading it.
So far...
(This post may contain spoilers - just a warning if you haven't read this one yet!)
Well, I just finished reading The Lovely Bones, so I wanted to come to this thread to see what everyone had previously thought about it. I did like the book. I would give it 8/10. I cried a little while...
