    Bad habits!

By far, my worst habit when it comes to reading is staying up too late at night. I don't have enough time during the day, so I make up for it by staying up until 1:00 or 2:00 some nights. I always pay for it the next day! But as for doing something to the book itself, I'm a pretty big...

    Greetings

Hello Mary! Welcome to the Forum. This is a great place to be if you love books. I also like to cross stitch, but I can never seem to finish a project. I always get about halfway done and then I put it down when my mind gets interested in something else (usually books!). Anyway - I...

right to life - right to die

This is such a heart-wrenching issue. My personal opinion is that they should let her live. Why? For these reasons: 1. Her "husband" hasn't had anything to do with her since she became a vegetable. He moved on with his life, found another woman, and I believe they have children now...

    Job offer

If it is something you want to do, even if you have to leave your comfort zone a little bit, do it. I have regrets for not grabbing up some opportunities I had earlier in life. Go out there and live.

What Do You Think This Means? Please guess.

I have to admit, I like that explanation!

    Does spelling still count?

My manager uses the incorrect versions of your/you're constantly. And she makes at least twice my salary. Where's the logic!?

    Does spelling still count?

Misspelling and grammar laziness has always bothered me in any form, but especially since the birth of the spellchecker. I try to overlook it when it occurs; however, I am a perfectionist and I can't help but have a lower perspective of that person's intelligence if they can't or won't take the...

What character in a book reminds you of yourself?

I haven't even been here very long, and I know that! :D

What character in a book reminds you of yourself?

Oooh. Great question! At the risk of sounding cliche, I definitely see a lot of myself in Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, a hard worker, and a little bit of a geek.

    Currently Reading

In honor of President's Day (February 21, USA), I'm reading Who's Buried in Grant's Tomb? A Tour of Presidential Gravesites by Brian Lamb. An interesting aspect of the book is the inclusion of the Presidents' last words, if they are known. I, too, would like to visit every President's...

    I just finished reading...

I just put down Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn. It has been on my wish list for quite a while, and I purchased it yesterday on sale at Books-A-Million. So far, it's the best book I've read this year (out of 5). It only took me a day to read it, which is very unusual for me, even though it was...

Bad Valentine's Poetry--or any bad poetry!

I'd like to see what you think of the one and only poem I've ever written. I wrote this in college when I couldn't figure out my stupid boyfriend. I can't prove to you how I feel I can't force you to believe I'm real I can't always be by your side I can't make you tell me the feelings...
