Sin-a-Rama: Sleaze Sex Paperbacks of the Sixties.
Thanks to Lenny Nero for pointing this one out to me. As I mentioned in another thread, I collect vintage pulp novels for their covers; I tend to collect books about the things I collect as well.
It was the pretty, Fauvist-style cover art that first got me to notice Maeve Binchy. (I'm impervious to the Oprah influence.) Now I'm a big fan.
But my all-time favorite book cover is a kitschy porn novel entitled Nympho Librarian, because I'm a...librarian. The book itself is unreadable...

I've always wanted to see Ed Wood because I'm a fan of his movies. They're so classic.* Never quite got around to it, but I just picked up a VHS tape for a dollar, so now it's on the top of my to-watch pile.
My public library is phasing out their VHS collection, so we've had thousands to...
It's true that too much use of "I" can start to sound self-indulgent. This applies to any first-person narration, whether it's autobiography in disguise or not. But I don't think you should try to follow a formula, counting sentences and so forth. Use "I" when it naturally occurs in the...
