    George Orwell: Animal Farm

If you read this when you were young, I would recommened a re-read, especially if you have a little knowledge about the subject Orwell was really writing about, the early history of Communist Russia. It will open your eyes to the fact that this is about something more than a simple story. Phil

There are in fact three main choices, but yes they all stink of stinky stinkyness. For once it would be nice if there was a political party who actually seemed to be bothered about the country rather than giving themselves tax payers hard-earned money as a 'well-deserved' bonus. But I guess...

Oh dont worry, they'll manage to fit an awful lot of mudflinging into the next month I assure you - plus, everybody already knew it would be at the start of May anyway, just not the specific date. The campaigning has been going on for at least the last year, and there is never a mud-raking...

Where do you turn for news?

I have CNN.com up as my homepage, which means that I always have the news staring me in the face when I log on, lest I should miss anything important, like, you know, theres a massive asteroid about to hit the Earth of something. If I ever bother to actually spend money buying a newspaper I...

    Robert Jordan: Infinity of Heaven

Are you afraid of terrorists striking where you live?

I cant say that it ever crosses my mind, and I doubt that it would anyone who lives near me. Then again, I live nowhere near a population centre, so I doubt that anything short of a nuclear attack on London would affect me. If I lived right in the centre of the city, then it would probably be...

    Last seen...

Novella, if you like movies like that, check out '12 Angry Men' with Henry Fonda, the only set is a small room, but the acting just carries the whole thing away and the film is superb, as are all the actors. Its old and in black-and-white, so everything that normally gets me off on a bad foot...

    April Fools - New Stories

Hmmm, King Tom Parker-Bowles, who spends all day sitting on the throne puffing on a joint and making up absurd laws (most of which would probably get passed if Labour wins the next election :D ). Sounds splendid!! Phil

I was wondering if they were a big deal in Holland, like the monarchy is over here. It seems like a lot of countries still have crown monarchs, but you never get to hear about them, whereas ours are always in the news. Phil

Oh Charlie's great at that sort of thing .. although not quite as good as his Dad, who is a full-on superstar at insulting people of all colours and creeds (hey, he'd hate to discriminate, he's got something bad to say about everyone :D ). Phil

    Bargains

Most libraries base it on how often a book gets taken out, and whether it is worth their while to keep it taking up precious shelf space - having said that I have got a few weird ones from the library at one time or another that shouldnt have been on sale I'm sure :) Phil

    Bargains

Oh no no, it is very real!! :) Literally every second shop is a bookshop, it is a wonderful place! :D I often wondered whether there was some cohesive plan to have all these second-hand bookshops there, or if they suddenly just sprung up over night. Phil
