I saw the first one, thought it was hilarious but purile - I'd grown out of that sort of movie by the time the third one came along.
Give me Airplane!! anyday - simply the best spoof ever (Naked Gun is a close second).

I would presume it would be a totally new character - as was the prisoner from 'Prisoner of Azkaban', and the object in 'Goblet of Fire' and the organisation in 'Order of the Phoenix' - i think JK Rowling likes to throw the characters in a new direction with each of her books, give them a...
Hmmm, skating in front of the mayor's house, I dont think Red Ken would like that very much - he'd probably start insulting everyone and refuse to apologise!
Ooooh, I just made a political comment, very naughty of me <Runs off and hides in his box>.
Lovely photos though, maybe I...
Read the Gunslinger in a vague blur on the way back from our holiday - started it at Geneva Airport and finished just before we touched down in Heathrow.
I really enjoyed the book, it was different, it jumped around, it was painfully obvious that it was meant only to start the series off, but...
I love the setting so I always keep meaning to read the books, but somehow I have never got round to them - I know we have the first Drizzt trilogy in the house somewhere, will get to it at some point I'm sure!! :)
Can you suggest some decent books outside of the Drizzt stuff?
Phil
Somehow I am not surprised that cropped up!! :D
As for myself, I cant stand Dickens, or indeed most classics, but maybe that is just school education influencing me.
A couple I have read recently -
On the Road - Jack Kerouac (Story went nowhere, the prose was terrible - it is said he...
Never been that much of a brave eater myself, so I tend to stay away from the weird stuff.
I have tried squid, which is not a meal I'd be keen to repeat, and I have eaten Buffalo (Bison by another name) Burgers which were just like beef but bigger and juicier and all-round delicious. I have...
Well, now that everyone has totally added to the confusion by misquoting everyone else .... :D
Damn, had forgotten about Pizza the Hut, classic! :p
Phil
Yeah, it must be love!! :D Of course, its perfectly true, she does ignore everything I say, especially when she's glued to the computer.
"Hun, its time to go to bed, its five in the morning"
"Urrrghrghrg, sure, just a sec."
"Hun, shouldnt we feed the dogs, they've started eating the...
Exaggerate!! Moi!! Surely not :D
Hmmm, I have less than lovely memories of Vienna from a couple of weeks ago, standing in the queue at customs waiting to be let through. The conversation went slightly like this -
"Excuse me, our plane is leaving in five minutes, could we possibly be let...
Damn should have seen this thread sooner, me and Ice were in Geneva for Valentines - it was very puuurdy in all the snow, and the cold just seemed relaxing rather than .. you know .. cold :)
Have to say, the city was lovely, not overly large, not huge numbers of tourist attractions but nice...
You would actually want them to write out 'Automated Teller Machine' (or whatever the heck it actually stands for, I'm too lazy to go look it up) - rather than just simply writing ATM?? Why? You know what it means, they know what it means, is there any reason to waste precious time by writing...
Thats cool!! :)
Heopfully this one will be just as informed and with as much depth as her last setting was. Will look forward to the paperback next year!
