Well, me and Ice watched King Arthur a couple of weaks ago - my verdict is thus:
As a big-battle, lets throw lots of chracters in and kill a few of them off movie it was okay, i'd say a reasonable buddy war movie.
As a film portrayel of any of the legends of King Arthur it was a inexirable...

Keep meaning to get hold of Eats, Shoots and Leaves; Waterstones always has it on 3-for-2 but as usual I am discouraged by my unusual aversion to hardbacks :D Hopefully it will come out in paperback at some point.

I got Umberto Eco too, though I didnt understand what the heck the quiz was rambling on about half the time, so I doubt it fits me particularly :)

Legolas was beefed-up far beyond the character in the book, but then it was rather necessary as Tolkien seems to have written him as token Elf just like Gimli was token Dwarf. At least in the film...
Aaaaargh, find myself agreeing with Billy, must go and reattune my personality matrix. I didnt like Catcher, the book rambled and never went anywhere - either that or some sod stole the last hundred pages and I never noticed.

Had a brief skim read of Lyra's Oxford in Waterstones once, it didnt seem to add very much to the His Dark Materials series so I didnt bother purchasing it.
There is a film on the way, btw, of Northern Lights (or the Golden Compass in the US).
