    Pizza - 'nuff said

Ice and I found a little roadside Pizza place when we were in Rome, just down the road from our hotel, it was fantastic!! My favorite pizza - thin crust, tomato sauce with basil in it (gives it a much better taste), pepperoni and various other meats ... but especially pepperoni :) I never...

    Every Family Has One...

I'm pleased to say that I was always the mommys boy, because I was the youngest child and I only have sisters :) However, I was also a bit of a troublemaker - getting into fights, getting suspended from school, that sort of crap. My family havent exposed me to their dark secrets yet, I'm...

Has anyone ever read any books like the Silent Hill computer game?

Heh!! I was going to suggest the exact same book - Phantoms is a novel very much in a similar vein to Silent Hill. Good call Mr Michel :) Phil

    Small Talk

I really hate small talk ... well any sort of talk at all really - I am much better as a loner when I dont have to talk to anyone. I have a small tendency to mumble and look at the floor when I talk, so I constantly get people asking me to repeat myself ... so in the end I just give up and dont...

    I'm a big meanie

Well, all except for Stewart, someone told me that the new material he posted in the writing forum isnt his own!! I am shocked and abased by his blatant plagiarism :) Anyway, is there a point to this thread, other than to try and re-open the wound of the plagiarism thread? Honestly...

    My Prologue

I thought that was the worst piece of crap I've ever read in my life ... well, the first paragraph wasnt too bad, but the rest, pffh. Phil :D

How does your gender affect your reading?

Ahhhh, clearly the reason I have occasionally been caught reading 'girly' novels is that I have not found the right man .. well, that clears up a few questions for me then, I always did find David Dickenson rather alluring when I was watching Bargain Hunt :D I would say, though, that I never...

Admit it - you fart - and you love it

I'd imagine its part of the growing old process, someone I know at work has an old dog that is now constantly ... well you dont need the details, suffice to say that they had to have laminate flooring installed. I think that animals are often loud with bodily functions, obviously they have no...

How does your gender affect your reading?

Kudos to you Chewie :) Did you enjoy it?? I cant say I've read one of his for a while, I stopped after Sum of All Fears. Some of his works may be easier to pick up than others .... Cardinal of the Kremlin I seem to remember was more political in scope than the military-type ones he often...

    I just finished reading...

Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Dark, disturbing and all too realistic, this was a terrific book that I had put off reading for far too long. I wouldnt say I actually 'enjoyed' the book, but it is certainly thought-provoking. Phil :)

Admit it - you fart - and you love it

Yeah, you ever walked under a pigeon and received a face full of little smelly crystals rather than a big white splat - those are concentrated urine ;) Our dogs both belch and fart with annoying regularity, they have a habit of burping right in your face when you bend down to cuddle them :D...

    Roman history/fantasy book

Simon Scarrow has written a series of books set around the Roman conquest of Gaul and Britain ... I'm not sure thats what you're looking for but I thought I'd drop it in, they seem to me more like a Roman-set series of Sharpe books. Phil :)

How does your gender affect your reading?

Hey, I read chick-lit on occasion, I'm not overly proud of that fact but some of it is funny and enjoyable .... of course, I get Ice to actually buy it :D Apart from that I've never thought gender was such a big issue in books, admittedly I've never seen a woman reading a Tom Clancy book, but...

    Hello

Hey, Welcome to the Forum :) I was attempting to also think of some fascinating fact I knew about the lovely MK, but all I can think of is that you have inherited one of the least-popular clubs in the football league :D Phil
