    Do you know your geography?

It was Miss South Carolina's job to look good, not to answer a dumb question. Anyway since 75% of Americans don't own a passport they don't need to know where American is, they won't be going anywhere. The other 25% can always ask directions. :D

    Moon Shadow

I also read British mysteries including Ruth Rendell (Barbara Vine). I Watched his show from the London Palladium on TV last night. It was called Judy Judy Judy and was a tribute to Judy Garland; he was singing her songs. I also watched a programme about his dad Loudon Wainwright III, a few...

Crime Novel of the Year 2007

....................for anyone who cares, the winner was Allan Guthrie with Two Way Split.

    Overwhelmed

Reading is just a way of passing time. You could equally watch tv, play a video game, complete a crossword, or do nothing. Time will pass anyway. If time is precious the last thing you want to do is waste it by reading. :D

    Insomnia

Some people only need 4 hours sleep a night. If you are not tired then don't go to bed. Don't nod off during the day and don't drink unless it's just before you want to go to sleep. :D

    human rights

I would argue that when you kill someone you have no human rights left and you should be grateful the Uk does not hang murderers anymore. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6955071.stm

    My Operation:The Sleeve Gastrectomy

You don't look heavy enough to put your self through a life threatening operation. If you are able to walk and eat salads, my bet is that you would loose the 8 stone in months. Much quicker than waiting for the op. recovering and then loosing weight. ;)

The first sentence in the book you're reading

The Stranger House. Well done, you must have read it.

    Reincarnation

True. Also I think that religion has very little, if anything to do with God. Someone can believe in a god without having a religion. If you trace most myths or legends back to their roots, you will find a grain of truth that sparked off what is now the myth. Your Santa illustration...

    Reincarnation

Your argument is fine, I only said that to get get you back into the debate; it seems to have worked;) No one is right and no one is wrong because no one knows if a God exists or not. It's all just a bit of fun debating it. Except for one thing, the word 'belief'. It is that word rather...

    Reincarnation

If you feel it is getting boring you should just not respond, now it looks as if your argument does not hold up very well and you just want to have the last word.................ok that’s fine. :D

    My Operation:The Sleeve Gastrectomy

I wish you well, I hope you don't need luck. 300lbs (21 stone) does not seem that heavy to be considered for the operation. If your ideal weight is 175lbs (12.5 stones) you are only 8.5 stone (119 lbs) over weight; I am puzzled as to why you would even want to put your self through the...

Do you think shes cheating on me?

If you are right then your friend is wrong, so why don't you want to ruin everything. Is it because you think more of your friend than your girlfriend?

    Reincarnation

Is the glass half full or half empty? Only one answer is correct. But unless you know the correct answer all you can do is believe it to be one or the other. Likewise "not to believe" could be a fallacy, but to believe in nothing IS a belief. ;)

    Reincarnation

I thought the easter bunny would figure in this somehow. When someone believes in something, then proof is not needed. It is the non-believer who is always asking for proof. If in your opinion then that would be a belief, because you are not able to prove it to be true, this is also a...

    Reincarnation

That may well be the answer. Maybe atheists and agnostics are not able to believe; but then again an atheist will say that they don't believe in God, even though they have no proof that God does not exist. So that must be a kind of belief anyway. :D

    Reincarnation

I wonder what sort of vegetable I started out as.

    Reincarnation

Good idea, elaborate .;) I do believe in a 'soul' and I don't think that this is the end. But reincarnation, I don't think so. I would be interested to know from someone who believes in reincarnation what would happen when the earth no longer exists for us to be reincarnated into...

    Reincarnation

No, as well. Another 'mature discussion' topic bites the dust.

    Library and Love

If you believe in destiny then you will meet your true love when the time is right, where-ever you are, so don’t worry about it. If you don’t believe in destiny then start asking all the ones you fancy out on a date, until one says yes, but keep to bookstores rather than the library. If...
