To many 'I thinks'
If someone speaks with a plum in their mouth, they speak in a way that shows they are from a very high social group. Maybe someone that reads what they think to be 'quality' literature while undermining the more popular fiction without really knowing much about it.
Both Gem and Shade talk about 'quality' literature, but neither seem to be able to be able to express themselves very well. Maybe they should give the 'pulp fiction' a go, take the plums out of their mouths and read for enjoyment.
Quality literature, is a label used for books that don't sell...
Yes, the novels were very good in their day. The have inspired the biggest ever film franchise and the movies are still being made. There is also the Young Bond books that sell well.
Gardener updated Bond bringing him into the eighties and Benson did the same for the nineties, so a new...
Yes I know, but it maybe a double bluff. The whole thing was meant to be kept a secrete until 2008.
Although I have not read any of his books he is British and as far as I know writes in a similar style to what Ian Flemimg Publications want.
On the news today it was anounced that there will be a new James Bond book published, to mark Ian Fleming's 100th birthday.
But who the author is, is being kept secret. It was suggested last year that it could be Lee Child author of the Jack Reacher novels.
Anyone have any more clues?
I think Libre, that you are being polite when he asks are you overeating. Some people can over eat and still remain thin. Maybe the question should be are you fat?
Most people are fat because they do over eat and do no exercise. But I think that you can over exercise as well, once you are at...
Ok, take homeless for example. In large cities there will always be homeless people. If we could home all the homeless tonight, by tomorrow night there would be another influx of people. Word would get round that people are being housed and others would follow. We always have to have a given...
There is for example, voluntary work associated with the Police, Teaching and Hospitals. Many Charities rely on voluntary workers, yet make vast profits and only a small percentage ever reaches the good causes.
No, I was not meaning it that way.
There are to many jobs in the community that rely on volunteers when these jobs should be done by someone trained and paid to them.
Not taking anything away from anybody that does volunteering, but I do feel that in many situations volunteering is a substitute because of a lack of funds.
I see what you mean with the rock example, nice one, but it is not a very good analogy when comparing it to a Stigmata. Stigma, ok you can have that one, but not Stigmata.
It the Holy sense as you suggested a few threads ago; Stigmata relates to Jesus wounds. And as far as I know Jesus did...
Stigmata
Reported cases of stigmata take various forms.
Many show some or all of the five Holy Wounds that were, according to the Bible, inflicted on Jesus during his crucifixion: wounds in the hands and feet, from nails, and in the side, from a lance.
Some stigmatics display wounds to...
There are five places on the body a stigmata can appear and finger tips are not one of them, or should I say ten of them……you know what I mean.
And you don`t have to be Holy….that’s just a myth….you only need to type a lot. ;)
And why should I not be able to start a sentence with the word...
