What's wrong with the public library?

I love my library, I'm rather obsessive about it actually. My city library is one of the best in the country, they have freaking everything. I hate the main downtown branch though, the librarians are grumpy, and it's too big. I go to a small branch that has almost nothing in it's stacks, but...

    Barbara Kingsolver: The Poisonwood Bible

I read it on a greyhound bus once almost three years ago. I loved loved loved it. Though it's not as good as Prodigal Summer (which is being systematically leant out to everyone I know that reads) It was my first Kingsolver, and I genuinely enjoyed it. The father frustrated the HELL out of...

Alice Sebold: The Lovely Bones *spoilers*

Has anyone heard anything about Alice Sebold releasing a new book? I really hope she's planning on a third book. I've googled it, and can't find anything online. Oh well, I just ordered Lucky and Lovely Bones from the library. Rereading these ones will just have to doo!

Pearl S. Buck: The Good Earth

I tried to read this last winter, and could not for the life of me get involved in it. I think that may have had more to do w/ the fact that the only place I had to read at the time was on a crowded bus, and in a busy busy mall food court during Christmas (I was an AM at a retail store, and...

    Vladimir Nabokov: Lolita

I kept meaning to post in this thread, and always forgetting. First of all, I'd like to thank all of you. If I hadn't read the first page or two of this thread, I don't think I would have read Lolita. I'd tried a few times, and never been able to get through it. Now...wow. I loved it...

The brownies were indeed delicious. They're fudgey cream cheese swirl choclate brownies, and I"ve already eaten two. And now my sugars are sky hi, and I'm eating protein and complex carbs to level me off so I can freaking sleep.

I'm a personal banker for a major canadian bank. I love my work. hahahaha. sorry, I read that this morning while I was still finishing it. I thought you were giving me hell! The fact was, I tried to go back in and redo it right away, and I almost put my foot through the screen. Alls...

Ok folks, who are our smokers and who are our non smokers?

I'm a dedicated non smoker. I hate the smell of cigarette smoke, especially when I'm at the hospital and there's people smoking in front of the entrance. THAT annoys me.

Does anyone want to keep me company?

So let me tell you a story. Last weekend I speant two hours working on my Professional Development Planner. Which is something that I was scheduled to review w/ my team leader tomorrow. It focused quite extensively on getting full time hours, and being what we call a 9 rating. Well. I got a...
