    What do you do.......

Breaca, I'm from England too, originally from London (although, fortunately, I don't remember it), then Slough in Berkshire, and finally Worthing in West Sussex just before I crossed the pond!

    Long novels or short novels?

I usually go for really thick novels. It always leaves me a little saddened at the end as I feel that I know the characters so well, and want to know how they're doing!

    What do you do.......

Breaca I know exactly what you mean. I loved my first year of being a SAHMWNK (stay-at-home-mum-with-no-kids), but it certainly gets tiresome after a while. My green card application is currently with the INS 'backlog center'. I think they must have one guy there working his way through...

    What do you do.......

OK, that explains why you put the 'Great' back in Great Britain then :D Pink Shadow - I think it's great to find booksellers who actually have an interest in books! From my experience, sadly these days, most booksellers are only interested in the price tag on the back, and know nothing...

Need a song to use in my movie. Suggestions?

How about 'Whiskey Lullabye' by Brad Paisley & Alison Krauss; it is a very moving song and Alison Krauss sings it perfectly.

    What do you do.......

for a living? I can't help but notice that everyone on this forum seems to have more than their fair share of IQ points, and just wondered what everyone did for a living! I'm not allowed to work at the moment (US Immigration laws), but I used to be a Customer Services Manager for a...

When to give up on a book

I really dislike giving up on a book. I prefer a fast-paced read right from the start of a book, but sometimes the slow-starters are worth sticking with. I suppose it depends on just how bad it is. If it's really bad, I'll give up after 30 pages, but usually I at least get about 100 pages...

What are you listening to Right now?

I'm currently listening to 'Crazy' by Patsy Cline. It still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

    Walk The Line

I loved the movie too and, yes, I did have to reach for the kleenex! I thought the acting by Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon was superb, and as someone else said earlier, there definitely was no trace of 'Legally Blonde'! What a horrible man his father was - I could have quite easily...
