What makes a book a "favourite"?

If I sit down and read it in one sitting - then, it's a favorite!

    Dean Koontz

I think he definitely peaked with Intensity; it's by far his best book. Whispers was pretty good too. But I have tried a few of his others, and didn't find them captivating at all.

    Suspense/Thriller novels written by women?

I'd suggest: Patricia Cornwell (although her earlier books are better than the most recent)! Lisa Gardner Tess Gerritsen Tammi Hoag Kay Hooper Lisa Jackson Iris Johansen Alex Kava Kathy Reichs Karen Rose Karin Slaughter Minette Walters

    Favorite Clever Song Lyrics

The recent hit by Van Zant; I can't remember it's title now but the words are: It's better to be hated for who you are, than to be loved for who you're not.

    Israel Trip

Beautiful pictures. I love to see the architecture in other countries. That's one of the things I really miss about living in Europe.

What are you listening to Right now?

There doesn't appear to be a lot of country music fans on here! I must admit, most of the songs that have been posted on here, I've never even heard of; not because I'm too young either (Maybe that means that I must now be at the other end of the spectrum!) I'm currently listening to 'A...

    Any suggestions please?

Thanks Valkyrie I've already read those two, but thanks for the reminder. I'm trying to list all of the books that I've read in an attempt to prevent buying duplicates, so at least that's another 2 for my list!

    Any suggestions please?

OK thanks. I've certainly not read 10 Alex Cross novels, so that should keep me busy for a while!

    Any suggestions please?

Oh OK thanks! I've definitely read the Micheal Connelly one. I've obviously got two authors mixed up. The Alex Cross one I'm thinking of was the one that was made into a film with Morgan Freeman. This is exactly why I'm now keeping a list of everything I read. I'm fed up with buying...

    Patricia Cornwell

I think it's Southern Cross which is not in the Scarpetta series.

    Jeffrey Deaver

I can't help but agree there. The annoying thing about Jeffery Deaver is that they always look like my type of reading, and I end up being disappointed with the content. I don't even both picking his books up from the shelves now.

    Any suggestions please?

Thanks southpaw & tartan skirt. I've never read any Ian Rankin novels; I'll definitely have to check him out. tartan skirt: Yes, I have read some of the Alex Cross (James Patterson) novels some time in the past. I obviously started reading James Patterson before I started to keep a list...

    Any suggestions please?

OK, thanks for the suggestion; I'll look out for Crimson River. What is the original language of his other books? I can read in either English or French.

    Patricia Cornwell

The Patricia Cornwell books really need to be read in the order they were published, as the main character, Kay Scarpetta, is in all of the books, so part of the story follows through each book in order. I've no idea which was her first, but it might be an idea to check out her website first.

    What are women's favorite subjects?

Yeah, I hate shopping too - unless it's shopping for books, of course! I've certainly never come across so many women before who don't like shopping. Maybe we fall into one of two categories: we either like shopping or reading, but never both!?
