    I'm in Ireland,1846,where the potato famine has begun. My parents and young sisters have just died of fever and our cabin burned by dragoons,and I've been carted off to the poor-house.

    Sacred Hunger by Barry Unsworth :stars4: Won the 1992 Booker Prize. Story of a slave ship in 1752 sailing from Liverpool for Africa. Explores greed amongst other traits of human nature. Very good read.

    I think you can,Spark,but it'd be good to just buy the book in-store at a decent price rather than wait 3-4 days or more.
