    Bob Leman: Instructions

"Instructions" by itself for $5.95 or Feesters in the Lake and Other Stories at Amazon for $250 used. If anybody can find that latter one for less than $40 or so let me know, I'd like to buy it.

    Bob Leman: Instructions

Linking to the story probably isn't going to violate its copyright. Copying it and, especially, trying to sell a couple hundred copies? That might.

How often does your SO let you out of your cage?

I tend to ask first and then if I don't the answer I want just go anyway...sometimes.

Post-Apocalyptic! End of the World books

This was a much better than average take on the apocalypse (you know, like the one coming October 21st ;) ) and the reason I say that is mostly because it seems all so plausible. The economy degrades to the point of unemployment numbering in the 40-60% range; anything resembling a middle class...

    5 Reasons Why E-Books Aren’t There Yet

Not the best examples in my opinion. So then does interaction on this forum not qualify as social? Many e-books are free and if they're published under a Creative Commons license they can be shared, that's the whole point. This ability to be copied and distributed also makes them very...

The New Yorker; Fiction issue 20 under 40

I remember buying the issue that announced this little project last year. I think I read the Ferris and Shteyngart's stories. I think I've got a Wells Tower book buried somewhere too.

    Fascinating scientific stuff

Yes. I still get that sort of thing sent to me by family members who still hold a child-like joy towards their email accounts of the novelty is far from wearing off.

    Fascinating scientific stuff

^Yeah, just got that one via email too. I know, I know...."forward it to 5 friends and money will arrive, don't forward it and money will cease."

    Fascinating scientific stuff

Interesting. I wonder how that squares with the whole dark energy/universal expansion acceleration theory? Maybe it eventually slows, stops, begins to contract and accelerates in reverse.

    Osama bin Laden is dead!

Had to within 24 hours as per Islamic custom and no country would be willing to take his corpse apparently.

    Fascinating scientific stuff

Kind of a subterranean ocean under eastern Asia.
