This was a much better than average take on the apocalypse (you know, like the one coming October 21st ;) ) and the reason I say that is mostly because it seems all so plausible. The economy degrades to the point of unemployment numbering in the 40-60% range; anything resembling a middle class...

Yes. I still get that sort of thing sent to me by family members who still hold a child-like joy towards their email accounts of the novelty is far from wearing off.
Interesting. I wonder how that squares with the whole dark energy/universal expansion acceleration theory? Maybe it eventually slows, stops, begins to contract and accelerates in reverse.
