    Patrick Süskind: Perfume

I saw this at the library last week, but I put it back on the shelf. Maybe I shall give it a go, next time I see it.

    Joyce Carol Oates

I've got that as well. Haven't read it though. If I remember correctly, I got it for free - that's the only reason I have it. I'll give it a go, eventually... :D

    Libraries vs book stores

How about 'try before you buy'? ;)

    March 2008 Reads

I can't quite believe this, but I haven't finished a single book in March. I mean, I knew I was in a slump, but that's just ridiculous. I started and gave up on The Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer. At the moment I'm in the middle of reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim...

It's not you, it's your books

I'm not particularly bothered. My husband is a non-reader, though he has started reading Carl Sagan. He just can't stand fiction, though. I can understand not wanting to date someone because you can see they have a belief/ideaology that's very different to yours, based on what they read. But I...

King's Dark Tower Series - For those who have completed it *SPOILERS*

I loved the ending!! My favourites are the first 4 books. Everything since Wolves of the Calla was a disappointment, moreso because I had been waiting for so long for them. :(

Ken Follett: The Pillars Of The Earth

I didn't like World Without End at all; there was just no story. I posted a review about it somewhere here. It's nothing compared to POTE, which is a shame as I had such high hopes about it, and was waiting for a long time for it to be released.

    New Look

I like it. The colours are much better - I definitely prefer the blue. :)

    Shooting Fireballs

I like Mario! The New Super Mario Bros on the DS is a great little game. I have the other Mario games as well (the standard platformers), and they are all very entertaining. They were a lot harder back then, though! Zelda is ok. I have the DS game, but haven't played it all the way...

    Joke Of The Day

    :D Love the McDonald's one. :D

    Don DeLillo: Falling Man

That's why I kept putting it back down. :p I think I'll start with White Noise, given that's what a lot of people recommend.

    Jared Diamond: Collapse

Ta for posting that. :) Yup, and from what I know they then introduced Myxomatosis and Calicivirus to combat the problem. I just read on Wikipedia that "One eighth of all mammalian species in Australia are now extinct", with rabbits being the leading cause. Yup...

    Don DeLillo: Falling Man

Ok, thanks, beer good. I shall give that one a go. The one I mainly see in bookstores is Underworld. I can't tell you how many times I have picked that up, trying to decide whether to buy it or not.

When you listen to a new CD,

    I'm too short! :D

    Jared Diamond: Collapse

I'll be interested to hear what he has to say about Australia. I take it from your last sentence that he feels Oz is on the verge of collapse?

    Don DeLillo: Falling Man

I have made a mental note to keep an eye out for this book. I've not read any DeLillo, so I'm not sure what to expect, but it doesn't sound like I'll be disappointed. :)

Ken Follett: The Pillars Of The Earth

^No, you're not alone - I'm still here!! I've read POTE twice, and enjoyed it both times (though my memory about it isn't very good :o ). It's the first historical fiction I read, and I was just completely hooked by it. I loved the story, and the characters - it was so compelling, and I really...
