At the moment, they are all higgeldy-piggeldy, wherever I have the space. Generally though, I sort by size, and then author. On another forum, someone said they organise their books by colour; I like that idea - I think it would look great! Must be hard to find what you are looking for though...
I never knew they were making a movie based on Choke. I'd heard about Invisible Monsters, but I don't think anything is really concrete about that one.
Glad to see The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox up there! That's the only one on their list that I've read (aside from Spook Country, which I gave up on).
World Without End - Ken Follett
Atonement - Ian McEwen
The Rosary Girls - Richard Montanari
After You'd Gone - Maggie O'Farrell
I Am Legend - Richard Matheson
Books I couldn't finish:
Spook Country - William Gibson
This Book Will Save Your Life - AM Homes
The Road - Cormac McCarthy...
I'd say I probably read at the average speed. I don't have a clue about how many word per minute though. Some books are easier to read fast, than others. There are some that I really have to read word by word to get the meaning, while others I can just read a sentence in one go (if...
I'm 31, and I've been reading for as long as I can recall. I'm never without a book, and it's been that way forever. When I was in high school, I would go to the library pretty much every day, to get something out to read. :D
I'll be reading this one in a while. I'm really looking forward to it, as I've constantly heard such good things about it. It'll be my first McCarthy book. :)
It seems a bit pricey, for something that is just for reading books/newspapers. I'd rather use a Palm (or something similar), that has other functions as well. Also, it looks quite large - the size of a paperback. I'd prefer something smaller.
I don't 'impulse buy' very often these days. Most of the books I buy are by authors that I am familiar with, and know I will enjoy. I have bought the odd book that I've heard rave reviews on, but mostly I borrow books from the library. :)
My list:
The Talisman - Stephen King and Peter Straub
Stiff - Mary Roach
JPOD - Douglas Coupland
Cross Bones - Kathy Reichs
Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden
The Testament - John Grisham
Needful Things - Stephen King
Grotesque - Natsuo Kirino
The Five People You Meet In...
Resurrecting an old thread here...:o
I've just finished Atonement, and I absolutely loved everything about it - the story, and the way it was written.
I definitely preferred the first section; I thought McEwen did such a good job of getting into Briony's head, and her way of...
*sigh* I've had to put it down, as I just couldn't get into it. I am determined to try other Gibson books, to see what the fuss is about. Everyone seems to recommend different titles though. :D
'The play - for which Briony had designed the posters, programmes and tickets, constructed the sales booth out of a folding screen tipped on its side, and lined the collection box in red crepe paper - was written by her in a two-day tempest of composition, causing her to miss a breakfast and a...
