I don't know that I can go so far as to recommend it, but if you are a lover of classics and/or liked Anna Karina and/or enjoy historic novels, then yes, this is a good book to read and it has a diverse storyline so there's probably some character you can intimately relate to.
I don't think you'll be disappointed. She's has an incredible gift in her writing style. If you find you like her style, I'd suggest you pick up The Mummy, as well as The Mayfair Witches Trilogy (The Witching Hour, Lasher, and Taltos).
Freya,
I don't blame you. Even after being over 900 pages into it, I still can't rant and rave about how incredible it is. But, if you ever did decide to tackle I can tell you that eventually the story does get interesting.
I doubt it as I waited for about 20 minutes for it to load and it never did. My work machine does this to me a lot though, so it's nothing new. I can wait until I get home... and then I'm sure I'll laugh my butt off! :D
Okay, so since I've never seen either hob nobs nor Dad's cookies, can someone please explain what they're like in a bit more detail? I like torture, what can I say? :o
And I just HAVE to chime in with my own observation... you're missing the "non" in the poll title. ;)
Oh, and yes, don't think I didn't notice you listed COFFEE first! :D
Good morning! Sorry for the delay in seeing this... you posted this just as I was starting to work. (Yes, I actually do that once in ahwile!) :p
Litany, dare I ask why you're sneezing? You haven't caught whatever Martin has, have you??
I hadn't noticed that until you mentioned it! And now I can't stop laughing!! That is just a TAD bit scarey, isn't it?
Thanks for the laughs, Phil and Ice! I needed them today. :)
