Oh yeah, I hear you! Ron won't play against me in UT2k4 -- he freely admits I'm a better shot than he is! LOL
And as for RPG's... we just have to play characters that don't use the same stuff or we'd be fightin' more than we already do!
Excellent list Oponn! Of all of those, the only one I haven't read is The Tamir Triad and since your tastes obviously run close to mine, I'll be sure to add that to my TBR list. :)
LOL! Now that's a good question. But, we don't have kids, and we don't have a lot of social committments (that's a nice way of sayin' we're both "homebodies"), so spending a weekend playing a game is not that big of a deal.
Ice, isn't it great fun to play games with your partner? My husband and I play Diablo and UT2K4 together a lot. It's just enjoyable to do something relaxing together BESIDES watching a movie or TV, and games do it for us since he's not into reading.
How'd I miss this thread? Thanks for bringin' it back up Oponn.
I never liked short stories until I ran across Robert Heinlein's The Past Through Tomorrow. Now, I'm more tolerant of them, but as a general rule, I prefer longer works so I can get to know the characters better.
Like you, mine involved a burn. I was quite young, and was "helping" my mother sweep off the back porch after a barbeque. I backed right into the still VERY hot grill. Singed my skin right off, it did.
