TV shows I've lost interest in

I like Desperate Housewives and watched the first series of Lost because I want to find out whats going on.. but there are shows which I just gave up on after watching almost religiously. :p One Tree Hill for one. I watched almost all of the first series but after missing one episode I didn't...

What have you read in March?

Perhaps a "What have you read this month..." thread should be made nearer to the end of a month, so that the statistics are easier to sort and so this doesn't end up as another "I Just Finished Reading" thread. ;) I'll be posting my reads at the end of the month.

    Books of Book Lists

I've read 16 of the whole 1001, plus 10 waiting on a shelf to be read and at least 29 others I want to read. I bought I'd buy a book like that, especially at that price! I have enough books listed as "to be read" as it is and that list contains books I know I don't like, such as Wuthering...

Suggestions: May 2006 Book of the Month

As it looks like you're short on suggestions I'll throw in an idea. :) I nominate Out by Natsuo Kirino because it's a great book and even though it has been suggested before, it has never made it through. Heres what's on Amazon about it (it gives a lot of the plot):

    Guilty pleasures

When it comes to my mystery/crime books I usually stick to Ian Rankin and James Patterson, and usually pick one up when I feel a need for a break in my reading cycle. I was reading quite a few biographies and now I seem to be reading a lot of young adult-ish fantasy books, so to get some...

Where to start with Stephen King?

I started off with Carrie, which I enjoyed, then followed up with Cujo and Salem's 'Lot, which weren't that great for me. I think it just depends on what types of horror you like. :)

    Recently Purchased/Borrowed

On friday I went out and bought Sir Thursday by Garth Nix. I also bought a manga (DN Angel volume 6). My local Ottakars now has a manga collector's card, which if you buy three you get the fourth free (you don't have to buy them all at once). :)

    How did you find TBF?

Mainly the same way as everyone else. I searched Google for a book forum because my "main" forum has a small but not very active book section and I needed something bigger. I found this place, looked at another and came running back here again. I don't think I'd be able to go to another book...

    Nightwish

If you go to the Nightwish home page and look for the news entry marked with the date "22.10.2005" and click the bolded "here" you can read the letter the band gave her, stating their reasons.

    SUPPLEMENTARY POLL!! Themed Reads.

I always find myself about to make a suggestion but ending up not because I can't decide on a book. With themes it would narrow down the choices into an easier selection (for me at least :p ). I love the idea. *passes out more popcorn*

    Where are you from?

I live in the South West of Scotland in a town called Dumfries, but I was born in Orkney (the islands in between Scotland and Shetland). Acording to Wikipedia the population is 35400, but that really means nothing to me. :p There are some pictures on the Wiki page if anyone wants to look at very...
