do you keep track of the books you read?

Last year I started properly keeping track. I keep a notebook with the title, author, start and finish dates and the number of pages in the book. Before that I just wrote down what books I'd read. I love my new system and wouldn't give it up! I don't find this strange, I like to know how...

    Recently Purchased/Borrowed

I had to choose between buying that or Filth (as my bag was already full by this point), I thought Acid House looked a bit better. :) It's definately a new record for me that's for sure! My previous highest count of books was 11.:p

    Recently Purchased/Borrowed

I went a little crazy book shopping today since I haven't had the chance in a while. Here's what I bought in charity shops: Cradle and All - James Patterson (£2.00) The Wind Singer - William Nicholson (£2.00) Slaves of the Mastery - William Nicholson (£2.00) Lucky - Alice Sebold (£2.00)...

When is a book too damaged?

If it's unreadable, even just a page of it, I don't think I'd read it... but I don't think I'd have the heart to throw a book out! At the moment I have two rather damaged books that my boyfriend had forgotten to return to school. As he was about to throw them away I snatched them and shouted...

Wandering books. Does this happen to you?

I don't tend to take my books out of my room unless they're going to be with me (i.e school or a trip to the living room) but I also have a problem with bookmarks. My last bookmark was an expired money off card, and as I finished one book and took it to my shelves to put it away, nice and...

You know you're addicted to reading when...

When you're looking for a new house your first thoughts are "Where will I put the bookshelves?" and "How close is the nearest library or book store?" When someone talks about an important part of a book you haven't read, but is on you "to-be-read" list you run out of the room screaming. :o

    Dave Pelzer

Unless his brother, Richard Pelzer, was in on it, I doubt it. I read Dave Pelzer's trilogy about a month ago and Richard Pelzer's 'A Brother's Story' soon after.

Not sure about the games, but there are two different types of Cowboy Bebop mangas, 5 volumes in total. Have a look at this page for more information... http://www.tokyopop.com/dbpage.php?propertycode=CBB&categorycode=BMG

    Who likes Dilbert?

I love Dilbert. I get my comic strip daily in my e-mails. I also own Scott Adams' 'The Joy Of Work', and it was very funny.

    Books about adolescence?

Try A Certain Age by Rebecca Ray. Personally I didn't think it was that great, but I'd say it certainly has most of what you're looking for...

Do you check TBF at work?

I don't have a job, and at my school I don't have a computer log-on name so I can't go on there anyway... plus they ban people from looking at most sites... :(

    Garth Nix - Childen's Fiction

There is also another book to do with the Old Kingdom (It may only be out in America though as I haven't seen it yet) called Across the Wall Tales of the Old Kingdom And Beyond, which is (I think) short stories about the Old Kingdom. I also found another of Nix's books in a charity shop a...

Alice Sebold: The Lovely Bones *spoilers*

Warning, may contain spoilers. I loved the book when I read it earlier this year. I hadn't heard many reviews of it and more or less picked it up blindly from a charity shop shelf. When I read it I felt like her death trapped her on the verge of her adolescence. Her sister became a mirror...

J.D. Salinger: The Catcher In The Rye

I first read the book last year and wasn't too impressed with it. I reread it a few weeks back as I'm going to be doing it this term in school. As I read I took notes, and after reading this thread it's helped me understand more about his dream of being the Catcher. I figured it had something to...
