    tv or not tv

sorry about the (cliche/pun?). anyway, i've been without tv for about a month now, and i must admit that i was terribly addicted. i mean, i watched atleast 4 hours a day, and that was while working 10 hours and attending school for 4 or 5 hours each day. i had experienced a lapse in tv...

Stephen King: The Dark Tower 1: The Gunslinger

i would recommend it. it is my favorite of the dark tower series so far. i am about to start wolves of the calla and then the next book comes out next month. after that there is only one more, i think. you have to like fantasy fiction, though.

    Steve Martin

i have not read it. in fact, i didn't even know he wrote a second book. let me know how you liked it when you're done. i liked the briefness of shopgirl. i felt that it finished as it should. more would have been too much. i think what i liked most about it was that it was serious...

    Classics that disappoint

i agree with Wuthering Heights. i loved the story, but i really couldn't get into the book. Same with the Lord of the Rings, though i liked the films. i actually enjoy Dickens. The classic that i dislike the most is stoker's dracula. i have never been able to read more than 10 pages.

    A question for the Ladies

i have no doubt that his evil wife had something to do with it, but i think he left before she had a chance to destroy him. do you think the world would be a completely different place if he had lived?

    A question for the Ladies

a friend of mine is fanatical about long hair on a guy. i like short hair, or shoulder length hair, but any longer than that is too much. think kurt cobain, not early dave grohl. ;)

    Thomas Wharton: Salamander

i read all of "Salamander" by Thomas Wharton while sitting in my car in a stranger's driveway while my boyfriend worked on their computer and a giant golden retriever contemplated me. i am so grateful for the experience. i really loved the very beginning. "I can't read the words at...

    Collaborative stories: Discussion thread.

thank-you!! it's kind of you to offer, but i think i'll stick this one out and cheer from the sidelines. ;) however, wabbit's intro is so good, i fear i may never forgive myself. great setup wabbit. it lives up to the name and leaves so much room for everyone else's brilliant and...

    Gray Daisy

This is a snippet that i wrote for a class a few years ago. i am a little worried because i have never shared my work with anyone except a couple of professors, but i trust you all to be gentle. ;) She walked along the asphalt path on the other side of the murky pond. She walked among...

    Short Stories

short stories are my ultimate favorite. i had an appointment earlier and knew that i would be waiting but didn't know how long, so i took along my favorite book. it's called "Sudden Fiction" and no story is longer than 6 pages. There are some amazing authors featured in it. The undefeated...
