    Favorite Cookbooks

The books I use more than anything are How it all Vegan, Garden of Vegan and La Dolce Vegan, all by Tanya Barnard and Sarah Kramar. I do eat meat, but I try to eat veggie for at least half of my meals. Great books.

    Suggestion: Posts

Duffy, I knew I liked you. Since when did it become a crime to post about something other than books in the non book forum? Every board I belong to has a general chat section. It's for the express purpose of keeping the non-on-topic stuff out of the topical forums. If you don't like general...

    Currently Reading

I'm reading Bill Clinton's My Life, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I think I might start The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loanna too though, Clinton is far to heavy to take to work with me!

    I just finished reading...

yeah Novella, I'm fine. Wifey poo has a couple chronic illnesses that land us in the ER once a month or so. It used to panic me, now it's just reading, and special conversation time with her!

    Choosing Your Next Book

Really depends on the order they come to me from the library, how forward I was looking to reading a book, when it has to be back, and what grabs my attention. I tend to read the library books over the ones I own, I know the ones i own I'll have forever.

Audrey Niffenegger: The Time Traveler's Wife

there's been some confusion about whether travel(l)er has one L or two. you proably searched with one, and that thread has two.

Sue Monk Kidd: The Secret Life Of Bees

I agree that it managed to be completely uplifting. It felt a lot like Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya's at times, but a little more real. I really liked that we don't know what really happens to lilly in the end, like we do with Secret, we know all along where Sidda is at age 40. I really would...

    How quickly do you read?

I really depends on how much time I have. I find that if I have four uninterupted hours to read, I'll read much more in those four hours, than I would in 8 1/2 hour blocks. example, The Time Traveller's Wife took me less than a day, while The Way The Crow Flies took me over a week, becuase I...

Your future at TBF - Poll

I don't understand the backlash against the silly theads in general, they can be quite fun at times. If you don't want to read them, then don't, that's the way I see it. I'm still new, but I love this place, none of my RL friends read, and I love being able to talk about what I've read. I've...

Sue Monk Kidd: The Secret Life Of Bees

Please do, I desperately want someone to talk about it with, but can't seem to find anyone else who's read it. I think I'm buying it for my closest Aunt for Christmas.

Audrey Niffenegger: The Time Traveler's Wife

I loved it too, I read it in a day, and was completely immersed in it. It stayed with me for a few days afterward. It took me longer to read the last 150 pages than the rest of the book because I didn't want it to end. Though, I felt cheated because

    Elizabeth Kostova: The Historian

GAH! I'm number 56 in line for it at the library. And they have a whopping four copies. It'll be a while, but I promise to post when I do read it.

Sue Monk Kidd: The Secret Life Of Bees

The Secret Life of Bees - Sue Monk Kidd This book had been on my TBR list for a while, and when I was looking for something to read next I came across it. I picked it up, and finished it, in less than five hours. This book is the story of Lilly Owens, a girl living in South Carolina in the...

    Book suggestions?

The Poisonwood Bible is a great book, but I don't think it's Kingsolver's best, try perhaps Prodigal Summer. Also, One Hundred Years of Solitude.
