    Feminist Lit?

Hey, just wondering if we have any other people here that make an effort to read, or even hae just happened to read, a little bit of women's studies? This is probably one of the only kind of non-fiction I read, and would love to discuss it with someone.

    Amy Tan: The Bonesetter's Daughter

I finished this about an hour ago, and was actually suprised with how much I enjoyed it. Found it reminded me VERY strongly of The Joy Luck Club, but it had been long enough since I read it that it didn't really bother me. very mild spoiler really interesting to see, as it's not often...

    Ani DiFranco

I ADORE Utah, I saw him this weekend too! It was the Regina Folk Festival (oldest fest in Western Canada). Ani has been one of my favourite musicians since I was 15, so to finally see her live was a HUGE milestone.

    last/next concert ?

I saw Ani DiFranco on Friday and am seeing Feist and Utah Phillips tonight. There's been about 10 smaller ones since Friday as it's folk festival here, but they don't really count.

    José Saramago: Blindness

The Nobel isn't really awarded for a specific book but for the author's body of work in general. I think. Thats what everything I read has told me, but I might be mistaken.

Where is your favorite place to read?

At home in bed (I usually move between on my tummy and sitting up every couple of chapters) or on the couch. Can't read in public because I'm a serial people watcher and they are always more interesting that whatever I'm reading.

What books have you read more than once?

I reread Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver at least twice a year. Also I read The Devil Wears Prada once in a while because it takes me like two hours and it's a cute book. I find lately I re-read less than I used to too though.

Blew in with a western wind.

Stewart, be nice ;) (kidding) Welcome Tolstoy. I don't mind if you can't spell, as long as you try and dnt use txt spk I'm ok with it!! I think you'll find though that if you spend enough times on the boards you're spelling will gradually start to improve itself.
