Well I'm quite a bit older and a guy so maybe I don't know anything you would like. But a great fantasy world that almost nobody ever talks about is a book called Nine Princes in Amber by Roger Zelazny. I'm trying to get other people to read it to see if I'm crazy for liking it so much. It's...
1. Age group?
30++
2. Last time you read a novel/series of novels? What was it/were they?
Harry Potter series oddly enough
3. Favourite Book?
Why?
Nine Princes in Amber - I loved the way the main character progressed and learned about the new world he was exploring.
4. Favourite character in...
The super power thread got me thinking. Would you want the power to read other peoples minds? To be able to know exactly what they think about at any given time? What they think about you? What they think about your spouse or your kids? To know if they would steal from you? Or anything...
It's not about the genitals. Women tend to have certain traits that men don't have. And men tend to have certain traits that women don't have. My point is that kids miss out on getting the best of both worlds when all they have is 2 men or 2 women as parents. It's like a giant social...
I just saw the second Hobbit movie as well. Well done, but I'm frustrated that they made such a long movie out of such a short book. And that they added so much to it.
I don't believe that the book of Genesis creation story conflicts with the general theory behind evolution. At all. For a long time I did but after a very careful reading I think they align quite nicely.
It seems to me that most people who are actively anti-gay tend to have some kind of deep seated repressed gay feelings themselves. Again, not trying to bash anyone. I'm still not sure where I stand on this issue. I'm pretty conflicted.
How old are you exactly? Sorry if you said that in here somewhere but I didn't notice. What ages do you think are the best and worst about reading books?
I haven't read this entire thread but I wanted to comment. I'm not sure how I stand on the issue to be honest. I've gone back and forth. I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this but I think men and women are different. And that it's important for kids to grow up in a family with 2 parents...
I don't own an e-reader and don't plan to! :) I love the feeling of a book in my hands and turning the pages. I get it though....it's convenient. But I...just...can't...do....it!
I think my biggest fear is growing old and having no body function but still having an active brain but being trapped in my body and unable to communicate with the outside world.
Teleportation for sure. The ability to be anywhere any time I want. Or to escape from any situation by simply vanishing.
Would be awesome during the Christmas holidays!
