Just finished:
Prey, by Linda Howard
Flash and Bones, Kathy Reichs
Now You See Her, James Patterson
Quick reads all of them. Now I'm starting Major Pettigrew's Last Stand for book club next week.
Have Princess Bride on the reserve list at the library...come on folks, go vote for...
Derivative is bad? Come on Will, you'll have to do better than that. Basically what we're debating is dark scary fantasy or light gentle fantasy with a soupçon of humour to boot. Aint no humour in Hound. Since we're looking at books that have become movies I think PB is the better choice simply...
I was thinking about that. I haven't decided if its worth it or not. Lots of the books on the Prime thing are ones I either have already read, or own in some form or another. I'm giving Prime some time to build up before I commit.
I'll also be pissed if I buy Prime and then the Kindle books...
Now now, don't be like that. If Miss Latteyo78 came cuz her mom asked her to then you guys just slagged someone's daughter. Geez. All because you MIGHT not get your way?
I'm campaigning now! Come on people, vote Princess Bride for a lighthearted and fun read. Action, romance, humour, giants...
Well aware of that. I sent out some email this morning to prod folks into voting. Mwah ha ha ha ha! Mind you I told them to vote their own choice, just SUGGESTED a nice change of pace. :whistling:
Free Kindle books vs free health care...hmmm. No contest buddy, sorry. Me likey Canada and all its flaws. I can be patient until they release Kindle books in our libraries.
Eh. (Sorry I forgot to add that so you'd know I was a Canuck. ;) )
LMAO. You guys are in trouble now. And for the record, that aint my IP nor did I create an account. I suggest you apologize to Miss Latteyo78, you were pretty rude.
Agreed. Unless you define "home" differently. I just get impatient with the "LOOK AT ME" BS from time to time. I know better than to respond, really I do. Still...sometimes I just can't help myself.
I guess your only option at this point is to cover yourself in plastic wrap then to protect all that sweetness. Don't forget your tinfoil hat though, the folks at the grocery store LOVE mine. ;)
WTF? Are you trying to drum up sympathy for your "homeless" plight when you clearly have access to the internet and own a Nook. Get real.
Buy it or don't but stop wasting time with inane stuff like this.
I've read most of those. Princess Bride will be a reread for me, but I read it so long ago it will be fresh again.
Come on people, step out of your comfort zone! Vote for PB! You won't regret it. I'm willing to bribe you with virtual cookies!
My only beef is that I can't get Kindle library books in Canada yet. I'm trying to get my friend in MN to let me use her library card, but she hasn't used it in so long its inactive. ARGH.
That sounds a bit odd doesn't it? Bear with me and I'll explain.
Thanks to this forum, I've been able to download Mobi books from our library and convert them to read on my Kindle. That is no longer possible with the advent of Kindle books available at online libraries.
So what is the...
