Well speaking as a relative newcomer, there are those of us who would like to join in but the books chosen so far have not held much appeal.
Changing the format might work to generate more interest. I know I'm keeping tabs on things to figure out what book is coming next. As far as the time...
Maybe it would be a good idea to clarify first who is interested in participating and where they are from. (Which I see is being done already) From there we can all look at what book to read?
I loved the Genre idea. Hope that flies.
Yes. You can borrow Mobipocket books. You need to download the Mobi2Kindle software and then you can convert Mobipocket books to the format readable by your Kindle. I've got about 6-8 library books that I've read so far. There aren't that many that I want to read at my library so I'm trying to...
I get to go watch some 14 year old girls play softball in a provincial final. I'll probably get eaten alive by the mosquitos too. I think thats fun...you?
What kind of cheesecake is sparkchaser partial to?
Listen here mister! Quite the smarty pants aren't you?
Thanks Janet, that's what I have been doing. I just get used to a certain way of doing things and get lazy.
YAY! It sounds like we both had successful Genre swap experiences. I'll do this again for sure. And I will also be looking for another one of Jeannette Walls books.
OK, I'm reading Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls and thoroughly enjoying it. She presents a completely effed up childhood (running from the cops, no supervision) as being a wonderful experience, and its just charming. What a life she's led!
I prefer the Chronicles of Narnia. I don't have a particular book preference. My criteria is readability, and I've read the Chronicles so many times I'm on a second or third set of them. I barely made it through LOTR once.
However, I know my opinion is an unusual one. LOTR is hugely popular.
Sounds like a good idea. It just appeared that all the folks who voted for the books have disappeared.
I'm basically lazy so if the book isn't one I want to read, I'm not going to go out of my way to read it. Bad girl!
If I might be so bold...something about this system is not working quite right. The last few months there has been virtually no discussion about the chosen books. Perhaps we are not choosing the right books? Or the folks who contributed ideas are not able to post about them?
OK, where do I go to borrow books from eLibrarys? I have gone through the eBooks at my city library and I think I've exhausted those I'm interested in. Where else can I go?
