Who is your favourite author, and why?

I agree that King is a great writer. I threw in the "intellectual" in the King comment because of some earlier posts years ago where many folks criticized king as a hack and I defended his writing. To each his own. I have not read any of Jodi Picoult, but I have a few friends who enjoy her...

What does reading a book mean to you?

Depends on the mood or current projects i am working. I read sometimes to learn, mostly to be entertained...and for the experience of looking at the world through someone else’s eyes for awhile... Mostly I read because I love to read. Always have, always will.

    Do You Prefer...

This depends. For an edition I am going to be just reading, the cheaper the better. If it is a book by an Author I collect like Hemingway, Steinbeck, or King, then I will try to find a first edition. For my non-fiction books for my reference library, just a nice looking hardcover will do.

I write mostly short stories, so when i sit down to write - usually in spurts - I can churn out 10 pages an jhour when things are clicking. What usually happens i will get sidtracked before i can find the groove, so i may only finish a couple of pages each hour...I try to sit down to write a...
