About once every year or so, I read Colleen McCullough’s The First Man In Rome series about the Roman Republic. This series has an enormous cast of interesting characters and is fun to read.
I agree. I started reading his blog and articles after I watched him on Realtime a few years ago. Although I do not agree with everything he says or stands for, my impression of him is that he is pretty fair minded and astute.
He claims to have never seen the Simpsons Movie. But since King did start this one in the 80's, maybe the Simpson’s Movie writers had some "inspiration".
Looking forward to this release.
I like and enjoy many authors.
For simple entertainment and because I like his voice and style, I enjoy reading Stephen King.
I hope this does not categorize me as a non-intellectual...
Yes, these two films are just as good as the short stories they are based upon. And both are two of my favs! The reason I feel and I alluded to this earlier is that both stories are narrated, this gives you an inside look as to how the characters are feeling as well as a good technique to...
Good picks Libra and I agree. "It" was actually the first King book I was recomended and read...almost 20 years ago lol! And except for a few I did not like (Tommyknockers for instance), King has entertained me on many a cold winters' night.
If you are really into horror, you should try to read a few of his books. His short stories to me can be the most terrifying. Pick up one of his collections at the library. And also, you really cannot judge his work by watching the films based upon them. His narration and descriptions are...
haha! WOW! I can see this guy sitting on top of a huge rock waiting in the sun...Can you see him barking orders during the gunpowder scene!?!
...And the dancing!
Ok, I am going to take a break from the Sookie Stackhouser series to reread this one. I read this in High School and remember some pretty scary parts.
Nice choice for October btw!
The dancing? or what is unseen in the outhouse?
Yeah, the merry dancing scene is surreal and haunting. But to me there is countless haunting scenes in the book...
And all of Cormac's books haunt me!
Never thought of Goodman...he played a great small part in the Coen Bro's film Brother Where Art Though. I can see him as the Judge.
Another alternative...Daniel Day Lewis is a method actor...maybe he can pull a De niro and gain 100+ lbs, wax everything and stay in a cave for a few months...I...
I agree with you a hundred percent. From a marketing point of view, if I was a doctor I would want myself and my staff to be healthy, lead by example if you will. Would this be discrimination if this was my hiring practice?
I must say I do know several doctors socially and they are all very...
