Thank you for this veggiedog. A lot of these rules or laws are saying less than one might think they would about what one is actually doing to one's fellow humans, but are more about simply refraining from behaving harmfully towards them. An interesting distinction.

Not to put too fine a point upon it, but you seem to be traveling pretty far afield for your examples of religious fundamentalism when we could just as easily find them at home (in our very own respective backyards), so to speak.
Travel broadens, I guess, but I'm just sayin'.
To be quite fair, GreenKnight, I'll bet you were meaning to refer to any and all extreme religious fundamentalism that would deny individuals their basic human rights?
If there is a heaven, then you two will surely get to sit down and drink a cup of coffee (or two) with the man himself (and maybe also with his wife) and be able to ask him about a million questions.
