    Reporting from Lebanon

Subsitute the word "planet" for the word "country", Samerron, and you and I'll be singing the exact same song. That being said, I'm feeling very, very proud of how you've come through this without evincing bitterness or the desire for revenge. You're obviously one of the good guys and God knows...

    Vladimir Nabokov: Lolita

Omigosh! I'm so excited for you! The way I did it was to watch the Kubric/Mason one first, but the Jeremy Irons one sticks much closer to the novel so I'd watch that one first and then have fun seeing what they do with the James Mason one, which is to have all kinds of fun with the novel (and...

Interestingly, those exact books are just about the only westerns I've ever read and, so far as I'm concerned, they all qualified as outstanding. Cormac McCarthy may rightly be considered to be the better writer, but McMurtry's no slouch himself when it comes to spinning a yarn.

    Vladimir Nabokov

I'm all ears. Eyes. Fingers. Whatever. :) I accidentally overdosed on Diana Gabaldon and have had more Nabokov recommended to me as a specific.

    Welcome Stewart, O Senior Moderator

I'm always happy to stay in the game so long's I'm still having any fun at all. I'll just go right on ahead and drop the entire subject now -- if not my actual ball. :D

They've gone. This was only intended as a heads-up. It has never been my way (rightly or wrongly) to do things sub rosa, but that's just me. I guess I just believe pretty wholeheartedly in freedom of speech. Kindness counts too.

Each of them sent me a link to book forums where they're posting now. I think they all already said here in the open what they had to say about the caustic remarks.

Stewart, I do hope you'll try not to let all this power go to your head. So far I've had PMs from three formerly great posters who have gone elsewhere in order to avoid your gratuitous sarcasm. (Not all of them were participants in the Nabokov thread, Shade.) :(
