Muggle: No Durham actually

Sophia: Me too I've been partaking since dinner and through about 200 pages of The Last Cato. (read it only if you enjoyed TDVC it's very-very similar) My...
I've been meaning to start it for a very long time. A Prayer for Owen Meaney is one of my favorites.
That dosen't mean I'm comming over to the Dark Side or anything;)
God I hope not, you may have caught it from me a few months ago. I do have one suggestion. Pick a book that's completely out of your normal MO. For example, non-fiction, SciFi, trashy paperback, mystery- thriller. Whatever is foreign to you. Just be sure to pick an author with some skill...
Thanks for the imput. :) I'll report back after I've read it. I enjoyed The Club Dumas and that is why I picked up The Flanders Panel. I hope it dosen't dissapoint. I'll let you know if the book falls short of my expectations or if the movie was just crap.
Thanks!
I always read this thread to get book ideas and I wanted to mention that I've seen the Historian on a few people's lists. It may have already been a BOTM but if not you guys should nominate it. I've read it and think it would make for an excellent discussion book. I don't imagine I would...
We do have a World Market and I shop there as well. They have a pretty decent selection and I like the way they really emphasize the country of origin with their displays. That's how I started getting into the Spanish whites. I also enjoy just about everything else in the store and I even have...
I also have a "thing" about the screw cap. It "supposed" to be better and perhaps it is but I'm definitely a cork fan.
How great to have your own wine cellar. I've got a hodge podge of wine racks on every free surface of my kitchen and bookshelves.
We don't have a Trader Joe's near where...
Personally I'm enjoying the pictures. I'd probably not like them if I still had dial-up but thankfully that's not the case. :D And as Poppy said you can opt out of pics.
BTW the National Geo. site was great! Thaks for the tip pontalba
Has anyone read this? Would you recommend?
The Flanders Panel Arturo Perez Reverte
From Amazon's Website:
When an art restorer sets out to solve the riddle of a 15th-century masterpiece in this uneven but intriguing, multilayered thriller, she finds that one murder begets...
Yeah! muggle thanks for taking the lead on this.
Purchased a case of 2004 Ercavio Blanco yesterday. I am really in love with Spanish and Portugese wines right now. There are a lot of very nice summer whites available.
Videodrome: As far as wine on the box. Go for it. Wine is for enjoying...
I've been reading a lot lately but have definitely been in reading ruts before. Sometimes they can last for months and it's usually picking up just the right book at the just right time that launches me out of them.
