Would love to see that stuff. The Dead Sea Scrolls toured near me a few years ago and I went to see those and it was a very cool experience. There is just something about looking at writings that are old and historically significant..
I have often wondered if i'm strange because I do a lot of rereading. For me it is a way to revisit a certain point in my life as much as it is about re-experiencing something enjoyable. I reread books that I read on enjoyable vacations, childhood, and happy times in my life. It helps me freshen...

Maybe Newsweek needs to be more hip like Time magazine.
I cracked up when this showed up at work today.
That is one nice weapon. I thought about getting one of their carry models but couldn't quite justify the price tag + it was still a little too chunky for me to feel comfortable carrying it. They are beautiful guns and the performance is spectacular though.
Hey MsBlueEyzz, I just went through this myself and ended up making the same decision you have come to. I am very pleased with the basic kindle. It is absolutely perfect to just read books on. I've had mine for a little over a month now and I am completely converted to e-reading (just about). I...
We need our guns in Michigan. Have you driven through Detroit lately?? :lol:
@Lovecraftian I've got a Kahr slim .40 for carry, a Taurus Tracker .357 mag, a Bersa .380 and a .30 caliber M-1 Enforcer carbine. The M-1 is a relic from my pops.
Hello Lovecraftian and welcome to the forum. Good to have another gun enthusiast. I like, and own several myself. I'm in Michigan and we have pretty liberal CCW gun laws. You can even own an actual silencer here now! I don't know what someone would need one for but I guess it's nice ...?
Anyway...
Death of Kings - Bernard Cornwell :stars4:
Uhtred of Bebbanburg returns in the sixth installment of the Saxon Tales for his usual purposes of insulting priests, stealing the wives of other lords, belittling his rivals and utterly destroying the Danish enemies of King Alfred The Great's...
Felt almost the exact same way about this book when I read it. It was good enough to finish and the author's personal connection to the story added an emotional depth to it. Not DeMille's best but decent. Try the Gold Coast if you want to give him another shot. That one is excellent.
I read Agincourt and compared to the Saxon Tales and the Archer Tales series by Cornwell, I sort of felt that it was a dud. There are much better places to start with Bernard Cornell.
I wouldn't know about that. I turned it off half way through. :lol:
I'll have to try to watch the rest of it sometime. When I'm not alone. And it is daylight.
Insidious.
I DO NOT normally watch horror movies because I am a sissy. I had seen bits and pieces of a few modern ones lately flipping through channels and thought I would be okay watching one.
This scared the bejeezus out of me. I had to turn it off. I am very curious to hear from any of the...
