Awwww Snap!! Lol.
Anyway that sounds like a good one Polly. If my library has it, I would give that one a shot. I never seem to be able to time it out right to participate in the discussions.... maybe for December I can get it together.
The Dog Of The South - Charles Portis :star4:
A circa 1960's Arkansas nincompoop road trips to Belize in pursuit of his wife and his Ford Torino, both stolen by his ex friend Dupree. Hilarious. Outlandish yet believable cast of characters, wild dialogue, and everything told in ridiculous deadpan...
Dark Places - Gillian Flynn :star4:
I thought this one was better than Gone Girl. Couldn't put it down.
Werewolves In Their Youth :star3:+
Short story collection from a really gifted writer. Didn't love them all, but overall strongly liked.
You know.... now that you mention it.... his (non) acting style did sort of work in that movie. I think I am just sort of tired of the "Magical" white man as a movie theme. You know, Dances with Wolves, Last Samurai, Avatar, or even Tarzan for that matter. It seems like whenever you toss a white...

Jackson may not be scarier than the modern masters of...
For Military, I always recommend Tim O'Brien's "The Things They Carried." It is a moving semi-biographical account of his time as an infantryman in Vietnam.
Rose Gold - Walter Mosley :star4:
I like the series, I like the protagonist, I love Mosley's style. Reading an Easy Rawlins mystery is like having a really close friend tell you a wild story about something that happened to them. 4 stars, even though this one felt like it got a little...
