Blacklands - Belinda Bauer :star4:
A gripping serial killer thriller and a heart rending family drama play out side by side on the misty English moors. Perfect October read. I was amazed that this was the author's first novel.
He continues to succeed all the way through :)
It is a really great story and the best John Irving book I've read. I was not a huge fan of Irving, but then earlier this year someone recommended Owen Meany to me and..... wow. Very enjoyable.
My avatar is a still photo of the fictional Randy Watson, lead singer for the band "Sexual Chocolate" from my favorite funny movie, Coming To America.

Didn't hate it. Dialogue was great. Acting was above average. It's just..... how many Mexican drug trafficking movies can be made. I think these have become the Mafia movies of the current generation. It didn't suffer from having Cormac McCarthy as the screenwriter and it...

Intriguing and suspenseful story of mutiny on the high seas. Sort of like the story of the Amistad, but in this story the author wants you to feel sorry for the slavers. Despite being one of the wordiest stories I have ever read, it still managed to be a page turner. Hard to read stuff...
