By the look of the handwriting, I think it was from a man.... and the return address was from Washington state if I understand American state short forms correctly.

I've never thought of it much as separating the two really... as long as a book is enjoyable and not painful to read, mission accomplished!
My idea of a storyteller is Clive Cussler, for example. His books are interesting and exciting, but his prose probably wouldn't win his any literary...

I agree with you, AquaBlue. I've always felt true writers write for the sake of writing... and write some pretty amazing prose and/or poetry. Storytellers might not be as technically skilled but are more interesting to read.

I love a Sidney Sheldon book on a cold, lazy winter night. The Stars Shine Down is my favourite. But you're right though, reading too many in a row can get repetitive. I usually limit myself to one or two a year.

Thank you for your warm message. I can't wait for Hugh Laurie to finish the next book either! I haven't abandoned the forum or the blog, I just haven't much time for reading lately. Keep checking back though, I'm just about ready for a new entry!
