    Forum shenanigans

I wonder where the doll thing ended up or if he is traveling still. We could make up something similar, I will try not to accidentally mail one of my cats :D

    Outlander series gets green light

I had to look him up when I saw the post :)

    Forum shenanigans

I can't remember if it was here or another forum, I know several members from here have been at multiple forums with me, but we used to send a troll/gnome? around, there was a game involved that dictated how and who it got mailed to and we sometimes added other stuff too, like a book or snacks...

    Outlander series gets green light

He has worked on a lot of different TV series, like Dexter, Breaking Bad, Vampire Diaries. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001093/?ref_=sr_1#Director edit, I guess movies too, like Rounders.

Welcome To The New Book & Reader

It's not so much that as I was confused why we can view everything and it shows up in our new posts but we are not really all the same, can they post in our threads? I mean are they members of BAR? But a not so secret subgroup? n I like the idea of ghost in the basement, but you can't help but...

I see, but don't fully understand, it is a bit like having ghosts though

Welcome To The New Book & Reader

Hmm, I have looked around and maybe I missed the info, but what is the category at the bottom? It seems like a whole different forum, that I can view and shows up in new/recent thread list but all different members and view only? It confuses me a bit.

    Outlander series gets green light

I saw that John Dahl is directing the first 2 episodes, I don't know if this means they will have different directors for the series or they are just giving him a test run :)

What do you want in a bookstore?

Hm, I guess I am the only one that likes disorderly shops? Some of my favorite bookshops look like a maze, with books stacked everywhere, no particular order or some system only the owner of the shop understands :) Maybe because I am a browser and like picking up things with no forethought...

Neil Gaiman "The Ocean At The End of the Lane"

Maybe he will make a bit of a sequel/tie in novel, as American Gods and Anasi Boys were?

    Ancient history

Margaret George is very good, I can't believe I have forgotten her. I read a few of her books years ago and always meant to read more.

    Outlander series gets green light

Well, as excited as I am to see this, I already was questioning the casting of Jamie and Jack. The actors they picked were not really looking how I pictured the characters but then hair, makeup and costumes can do a lot for that :)

Neil Gaiman "The Ocean At The End of the Lane"

I agree with "more wonder, less horror" as I said before I did like the story, specially the parts with the Hempstocks. I wanted to know so much more about the 3 Hempstock neighbors :)

    Houseplants

I don't have much of a green thumb myself, I mostly stick with the hardiest of plants. If it can't take a bit of neglect it doesn't last to long.

    Malcolm Gladwell

I have only read the two books you mentioned in the op but I really like him too. He is interesting and amusing, just what I like in a non-fiction writer :)

    Kazuo Ishiguro

I think it is a close tie between, Remains of the Day, and, Never Let Me Go, being my favorite by him. I loved both of them and have read both multiple times. I liked, When We Were Orphans, too but it didn't catch me the way the other two did. I look forward to reading his other books :)

New Member in need of help

That is tricky, I can't think of any with an all black cover, but you never know when books will pop up again, so I am sure you will come across it again :)
