I like this idea, I always like to read books and then watch the films so I can compare :) Mostly I like the books better, although I do know of a handful were the movie is better than the book. And sometimes it's just fun to talk about what was changed and why.
I might have to pick this up from the library, to refresh my memory a bit. I remember being a little disappointed in the book but I did not dislike it all together. I remember the cover was beautiful and I really liked the concept of the book. I think like Meadow I felt let down by the lack of...
As mentioned above, I like that Goodreads has brought me new authors, some independently published and I would fear that less of that would happen now. Reading this article it says that it is unclear if changes would be made but seemed to lean towards the possibility and that is my biggest fear...
Goodreads acquired by Amazon, perhaps for close to $1 billion - LA Observed

What do you think? Will Goodreads stay the same, be better or worse? I love Goodreads as it is now, so I hope not much changes.
I support gay marriage and I think there is no reason it should not be legal nationwide, I imagine it will have to be legalized one day, just as bi-racial marriages are now legal, and I hope that day has come now. To uphold laws based on certain religions' ideas of what marriage should be would...
Is it by any chance, The Kin of the Ata Are Waiting For You by Dorothy Bryant?
"Part love story, part utopian fantasy, part spiritual fable, The Kin of Ata Are Waiting for You is "a beautiful, symbolic journey of the soul" (Berkeley Monthly). Into the world of the Ata comes a desperate man...
I kind of liked it when we could see who voted for what, it maybe made them more accountable. I don't ever want to be a sore loser or anything, but I do dislike when something is voted to win and only the people that didn't vote for it read it :(
I have read most of the series and the first is still my fave, and if you don't want to see Jamie suffer anymore then you would be disappointed. Jamie & Claire continue through their struggles, it is kind of like a soap opera in that aspect, more happens to them anyone could ever survive in real...
The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said.
The chances, the changes are all yours to make.
The mold of your life is in your hands to break.

I finished it last night, I liked it but I can't think of anything to say about it, much less review it. The stories were short, poignant and reminded me of Aesop.
Oh and did you see the article about the Norwegian woman that had her Kindle account frozen and all her books removed? I know this obviously does not happen often but I am afraid of what I'd do in her shoes...
I don't really use it much but I have an app on my Iphone and I do keep a couple of free public domain books on there just encase I get stuck with nothing to read. The hubby wants me to get an Ipad so I don't have to make squinty face in public but I hold out because I like to embarrass him :D
I wonder if we picked some more current selections if there would be more discussion? I find that BOTM is often something I have already read but long enough ago that I would have to reread it and I have so many new things I want to get to :)
I guess we could, it seems to be just me and you :) I like Oscar Wilde, I had read some short stories by him in the past and enjoyed them, these seem to be good too but I am thinking Dorian Gray will remain my favorite.
