Tim Severin,sailor and traveller,(might get Robert interested)Wrote some delightfull novels about moderne sailing with old ships,or built like in the old days.His style is good and humourous,full of references.

I followed your advice and read Silk by Baricco,and loved it.I got city from him too.Also got the album of Barb Jungr,some of the Dylan's song are excellent,specilay I want you.Some song sound a bit like Kurt weill.
