The Narrows - Michael Connelly :stars3:
A little bit of a let down. I had higher expectations going into this one. This being the sequel to The Poet and bringing Harry Bosch into the storyline, I thought this would be a blazing page turner. Still not bad though.
Michael Connelly is really moved up in my favorites authors category. His Harry Bosch series has been exceptional so far (haven't read them all).
I like Greg Iles, Stephen Hunter, and David Baldacci as well.
Read a couple in that list of 25.
Noticed some Dan Simmons on that list. This is an author I am not familiar with but some friends of mine recommended I read some of his work. The TBR pile just keeps getting bigger.
It is a series relating to WWII. This being the first book. The second book is The Steel Wave and is about the Allied Forces invasion of Europe. I have yet to read the second book but I am sure it will be very good if not great.
The Monkey's Raincoat - Robert Crais :stars4:
The first Crais book I have read and it didn't disappoint. It's classified as a mystery but could be classified as a comedy. Elvis Cole is hilarious and a major smartass.
I have other DeMille books that I picked up at library book sales, so I will be reading more from this author. By no means have I given up on him. Up Country wasn't great but decent. I will look into The Gold Coast. Thanks for the recommendation.
