    Best Vietnam War books

A few months back I read The Things They Carried by Tim O'brien. It is a book of fiction though but a pretty good read.

Straight Out of Line - Godsmack

The Narrows - Michael Connelly :stars3: A little bit of a let down. I had higher expectations going into this one. This being the sequel to The Poet and bringing Harry Bosch into the storyline, I thought this would be a blazing page turner. Still not bad though.

    How Many Books In 2012?

A review is a review, mini or other-wise. Also, keep "Peder's Pond" stocked. I enjoy the time spent on the pond. :)

    Who is your favorite author?

Michael Connelly is really moved up in my favorites authors category. His Harry Bosch series has been exceptional so far (haven't read them all). I like Greg Iles, Stephen Hunter, and David Baldacci as well.

Best Horror of the past decade?

Read a couple in that list of 25. Noticed some Dan Simmons on that list. This is an author I am not familiar with but some friends of mine recommended I read some of his work. The TBR pile just keeps getting bigger.

    Jeff Shaara: The Rising Tide

It is a series relating to WWII. This being the first book. The second book is The Steel Wave and is about the Allied Forces invasion of Europe. I have yet to read the second book but I am sure it will be very good if not great.

The Monkey's Raincoat - Robert Crais :stars4: The first Crais book I have read and it didn't disappoint. It's classified as a mystery but could be classified as a comedy. Elvis Cole is hilarious and a major smartass.

    Nelson DeMille: Up Country

I have other DeMille books that I picked up at library book sales, so I will be reading more from this author. By no means have I given up on him. Up Country wasn't great but decent. I will look into The Gold Coast. Thanks for the recommendation.

    Nelson DeMille: Up Country

:stars3: A U.S. Army officer’s name found on the Vietnam War memorial in DC may not have been a casualty of war but instead may have been a murder victim. Paul Brenner (former U.S. Army Intelligence officer) is brought back from forced retirement to investigate this possible crime that took...
