Yes, I just finished ME2 in fact, and loved both it and ME1. I'm the cheap guy who buys games when they are 2-3 years old and costs a fraction of its retail launch price. :)
But ME3 I may decide to buy before waiting *too* long. :)
But ME2's Miranda, I mean come on! A more obvious nerdbait I...
It's online. I've just posted the second assignment, and boy the difficulty quotient just went up a notch. I've never written from such a conscious perspective before, and I find that it turns on a perspective on the way I read a little (in a good way).
One thing that's interesting but...
There's a very funny 3-panel comic strip that shows the fans' reactions to the prequel ("we will buy it under protest!", "we'll read it but we won't like it!"), then other creators' reactions ("you money-grubbing bastards!!!... Why didn't you call me??") and then Alan Moore's reaction ("casting...
Polly, we're talking about the free online writing course over at Writers Village University, specifically F2K Social Writing Course. Was kinda hoping others would have joined, as it's turning out to be kinda fun.
Ok, so did anyone from here participate? I just wrote up my first assignment, and am now awaiting feedback. The assignment itself wasn't hard (this time), but the constant feedback to strangers on their work is strange, considering that I'm not a very strong writer myself.
Seeing how others...
I should be sleeping, but a quick note to say I finished the second season, and it's great, but I think the first season slightly stronger. I loved the last of the 3 episodes though, called the reichenbach falls, and Sherlock appeared more of an asshole than he did the the story of the same...
Pont, easy! You just replace all that dialogue with gun fights and car chases! :)
Yeah, I just learned about the mini series too.... I think I'll try to find it, because then it'll also be a distinction of seeing Alec Guinness for the first time not able to wield the Force. :)
Hmm, have to say I'm unfamiliar with Pinochle. We're really huge on mahjong (not the tile-removing kind that the word is mostly associated with in the west, but the actual game playing kind most popular in Hongkong), Big 2 and Gin Rummy.
Interesting you said legalized gambling. :) Our...
Came back from Chinese New Year celebrations over the past week, traveled to a couple of places visiting relatives. Coaxed Australian relatives to card games, but eventually lost quite a bit of money to the father in law. Ugh.
Damn, was spoiled as I read Gabrielle's post! Grr.
Anyway, I'm almost at the end of tinker tailor, and by golly what an extremely fantastic book! Luscious, luscious prose. This is such a departure from what we've been trained to expect from a spy novel, as it's slow and deliberate, and I have...
Ok, I'll play.
This is my library/work area. Unfortunately I don't have a nice room in which to put all my stuff, and I don't have a bigger desk for my wrists to rest on when I'm typing at full speed.
All my other crap (wallet, loose change, in tray, *other* computer, etc) are on my other...
Has anyone here read his This Is Not The End of The Book?
They said many things in the book, but I found what his co-author Jean-Claude Carriere said about the impermanence of technology being one of the most important problems of the ebook very interesting.
In my opinion he's both right...
Google is truly the outsourced mind for the modern generation. So damn easy for people to commit mistakes in a couple of keystrokes. Goodness knows I've committed damn a lot of them myself.
